Are you sure that holds true with a player that is dismissed as well as those that leave on their own? I thought it didn't apply when a team flat out dumped a student athlete. If it does apply that is entirely fucking stupid. He didn't bail on the program, the program dumped him. He should be free to go anywhere he wants after being dismissed.

I'm no expert on it. But I'm fairly sure that since they dumped him, he can go wherever he wants, play right away and not lose eligibility. Essentially, they yanked/didn't renew his scholly which essentially makes him a free agent.

Didn't see anything in there specifically about a dismissed player.

He was not kicked out of the school so that section doesn't apply. He is not engaging in a voluntary transfer. He was kicked off his team.

Again, I have no idea if those rules do still apply, but it's entirely shitty if they do. If you no longer want a kid for whatever reason they should be 100% free to go anywhere they are wanted. Period. The rules in place protect the institutions from other institutions more than anything. It's meant to stop trying to poach kids already on teams, or at least make it far less attractive to the kids. The NCAA wants kids to stay at their program and complete their education, not jump around from team to team. Oregon dumped this kid and he should be free now to go where he pleases.

Now I'll still give a ration of shit to whatever team takes him knowing his problem with drugs and whatnot, but that's a different matter.

He graduated and he got the boot. He can go anywhere he wants. It's not a transfer. With that said he spent the night in SLC talking to the Utah staff.

That's gonna change on the defensive side of the ball with the addition of Williams.

I just want something to finally change for the better. A new owner would be a great start.

The two LA schools have killed it in recruiting ... at least by PAC standards.

The only thing that jumps off the page on those recruiting rankings is how bad of a return UCLA and ASU have had on their ranking/results ratio.

That and Utah has gotten the most out of their talent.

Kind of how it's been since I was a toddler. UCLA for sure but ASU has always gotten the scraps of the great talent that couldn't qualify for the Cali schools or your Mutts.

But who cares the AC will again decide the north and hopefully we don't shit the bed for what the 3rd straight year.
