That's one thing that I do love about the Yankees. It's similar to the Celtics in basketball and the Canadiens in hockey. No matter who you are, if you grew up a fan of the sport, you have to get the goosebumps just a little bit at the thought of playing for that team.

You put on that uniform and it means something just a little extra special when you go to work.

Yup

Right up until you start sucking in those cities

Eh, Celtics and Habs fans are kitty cats nowadays. The last Celtic that I remember that really got it good from the fans was Antoine Walker around year 3. He got booed so bad for taking and missing so many threes that he cried during a press conference.

I still laugh when I think about it.

Same here. 30 years ago, guys like Ellsbury and Headley would have been escorted to their cars by security. Barely get booed

According to USA Today's Bob Nightengale, the Red Sox "have their eye on" Giants third baseman Eduardo Nunez.

Boston was known to be in talks for Todd Frazier before the White Sox shipped him to the rival Yankees late Tuesday night as part of a seven-player swap. Nunez is a decent pivot, though he doesn't hit for as much power as Frazier and has always carried durability issues. The 30-year-old impending free agent is batting .295/.319/.407 with four home runs and 17 stolen bases in 69 games this season for San Francisco.:suds:

I'm sure you do. He was a face of the Red Sox during the pre-Henry/Lucchino/Werner Red Sox punching bags that the Yankees loved to torture.
I met Brian Daubach when he was coaching for the Nashua Pride years back. Used to love seeing the old players come through that league and Butch Hobson managed them for a long time. He was my hitting coach freshman year of high school. I was a lost cause though, but good guy.
