If you had to bet right now today on taking Darnold or the field as the first QB in next years draft, which would it be? Your mortgage is on the line so choose wisely.

Right now I'd take Darnold. He's a 6'4 225lb pocket passer with mobility and he's a former linebacker. In interviews he will do fine and he's a gym rat. Other than the Wyoming kid I think he's a lock as the top one. He will play against better competition so if it's a close call I'd say he gets it. Most other USC QBs had obvious things you could pick at
Carson Palmer- big arm big kid but not mobile
Lienart- possibly system kid with success because of the players around him. Not a big arm, work ethic
Barkley- Size and arm strength
Sanchez- tall but not big, decent arm but not big, not enough experience

Darnold is as big as any of them but thick, arm is just as good as Palmer, mobility better than all of them, under pressure he's been nails.

Tomato Tomoto everyone has their opinion.......

True , but the Tomoto or Tamato made defenses look silly. Would NFL teams rather have perfect technique Browning or Darnold?

You're exaggerating a bit. Its not a side arm action. He's got a long loopy delevery riht now but he's been working on it with Carson Palmers brother (the live near each other ) . It's not even close to say Philip Rivers.

From si.com. From no one to # 1: Wyoming QB Josh Allen poised to be top pick in 2018 NFL draft (5-16-17)

Allen is good but he also threw 15 picks while playing against MWC competition. I agree that things change often when the next highly regarded guy is going into his final season as the "sure fire #1 QB," but damn if this Darnold kid doesn't look like the real deal. I mean the accuracy, the timing, the poise, the athleticism. On and on. He looks so good. What a stud that dude is.

At this point I take Darnold versus the field and I don't think twice about it.

And who might that be seeing how you left that part out of your post.

Kid from Wyoming is the most likely to be #1. He has all the things scouts drool over

Good to see Jake @ #18, but he's gonna have to perform better on the road. Looked like a dear in the headlights at UF and Clempsun.

Interesting, so you don't believe him at all then when he says he's planning on staying for his senior season then. I mean he can't possibly go first QB next year if he stays. So you'd bet the mortgage on that.

He's be a total fvking idiot if he stayed after this season ... unless he tanks.

Oh I think there's a solid chance he comes out, but it didn't feel like the usual USC fans were in agreement. Just clarifying with Jim that he's not buying that Darnold is staying. That's all.

I'd still bet the field just because there is always so much chaos in those ratings.

Where does your boy Browning go? @AlaskaGuy

Browning is a product of a great offense. Good line, Great WR, Great RB. Def that gives him MANY Opps.

Browning MAY stay at UW another year. Needs to improve ARM strength.
