FAvre won a SB late?

Because Brees isn't worth a long term contract in a new offense at his age. He can't win without a defense in NO, what makes us think he can win without a defense in DC?

again ... i am not necessarily say brees could win here

but ... in the "right" circumstances an aging QB could pull a Manning

and you are correct about Farve ... i wanted to correct the post after re-reading it

but i still believe Farve on the right team during those years (jets, vikings) could have got the job done

but like an aging basketball player ... teams need to be prepared to sit him stretches during the season

AGAIN ... this is off topic ... i think aging QB can win on teams who just need a QB

we have the technology ... these guys can play into their 70s

& QB is 75% mental

and you dont start to lose that until .... how old are you @coach_spurrier_1 ?

Does that right circumstance include the Denver defense of a couple years ago? If so, I'm down.

As long as the games weren't close and Favre has to win it at the end. Cuz that was the time when his soul-crusher INTs were ready to make their presence known in the game.

Yeah, that CGI can make anyone look like a balla.

Dean, lets try something. I assume you have a job. I want you to go to your boss tomorrow and tell him that its time to renegotiate your salary and you present them an offer that you now think you are worth and what you are willing to work at your current job for. Then come back here and please tell the board how that went. If you boss accepts or counters you are right, KC should present an offer. Something tells me that is not what will happen.

you cant compare regular people to these guys. IMO KC wants to hit FA

BS. Negotiating is negotiating. You seem to believe that the onus is on KC to make an offer. Well, then, why doesn't that work in the real world, also?

The fact is the onus is on the FO to make a fair offer to start the negotiations. They have failed to do so in 2 YEARS! Wonder why KC may want to go into the FA market and get the hell out of here? Its not greed, its respect, or lack there of by this FO for KC.

What excuse? I gave you the reasons why I support the wait and see or trade or LTD. You want to give him whatever he wants including 90-100mg which will be needed to get this deal done. IF fans disagree with this line oft thinking you call them ABC's which is crazy. In the end you will be proven wrong again.

I agree somewhat. But if KC really wanted to stay here and likes the players and coaches around him he would put forth his demands to the team. The past is the past. Kc has to put that behind him. If he thinks he can win a Super Bowl here then yes go to the front office with demands. If not then he is content to hit FA. Which I belvie he truly wants to do. If the FO doesn't step up then fine happy trails in FA. But by knowing this information right now we could possibly find a trade partner. IF the rumors are true that KC demanded a trade after the crap offer by Allen why aren't the Redskins pursing this avenue when they know he is gone in 2018? I do not understand the waiting game right now. Even if the Redskins give him the 90-100mg offer on 7/16 and KC says no then we really look like asses b/c it would be to late to get a trade done. The only thing I think the Redskins are thinking is that they would give KC a huge offer 90-100mg at the 11th hour and when KC turns it down they will tell fans that well we tried to get a LTD done but he said no. Then the fans will be on the side of the FO.

Honestly, if you want him here, what is 90 million guaranteed?

It is three years salary guaranteed with a low SB.

You should probably start by offering him a reasonable two years guaranteed with a small SB. Instead you want to offer him a small SB and guarantee the one year salary he is already guaranteed. KC should say fuck off.

Dean, I'm sure the FO knows what KC expects. Hell, we know that any deal starts at the tag # of $24M. And now that the Carr deal is public, we all know what the going rate is. I do agree, if they have no intentions of coming forward with a fair offer, they should have traded him before the draft. So what the fuck is the FO waiting for? DO they think that KC will eventually break and panic? That is not going to happen. No, the FO has mis played this whole scenario and put themselves behind the 8 ball. They should have worked a fair LTD deal out right after last season. It should have never gone to a tag this year. His agent has been consistent throughout. IF you tag KC, that is where the negotiations begin. And if they have any inkling of tagging him next year, guess where the negotiations begin then?

What you and a few others fail to understand is that by tagging him, the FO has established his minimum value. If they are willing to pay him $24M for a year guaranteed, then they should be willing to pay him at least that for every year of a LTD. How that doesn't make sense to some of you is baffling. Now the deal can be structured a few different ways, but the minimum value has been set.

Negotiations always start with the FO. Why would KC make a reasonable offer?

And in no way, no matter how this works, it is the FO's fault.

What you don't understand is that KC turns down the Carr deal. Of course the FO is not going to offer less than the Carr deal. If the FO feels the talent doesn't warrant the money then a trade should be made.

If he turns down $100M guaranteed, that says I simply dont want to be here long term. So yes that would be because of the front office.

that's bullshit. Most fans will call KC a money hog and wasn't willing to commit here. I know you cant understand this but the FO doubts KC talent. Forget the stats. It's a talent issue.

A trade wont happen.

If you really think this is a playoffs team, then looking at the 2018 QB class is accepting the idea that we are looking to trade up.

This should be interesting. I wasnt sure how they would screw this up, but its becoming clearer now.
Just not sure WTF you are talking about. Always pointing the finger to the FO direction. Don't even mention the fact that KC is playing hard ball and quite frankly won't sign for any amount of money, period! He wants out and that is becoming increasingly clear. Looking at the 2018 QB draft class should and will be something worth looking at since we may be looking to replace Cousins. IMO, if KC decides not to sign, the Skins have to look at what's best for the team at that point, not KC. Make that deal with KC to the Niners for a 1st next year and Hoyer. It's not the ideal situation since you brought in Pryor however, its what is best for the team, not an individual.

How do you know KC turns down a carr like deal?

What you fail to understand is that the ship has sailed on a trade. Dean, listen carefully. A trade will no longer happen for KC this year. It makes no sense for anyone to do it now.

If they doubt his talents, why tag him at the insane rate they did? That, again, makes no sense.

Yes. If he turns down 100 mg, it means money doesn't matter. If money doesn't matter, then it is atmosphere and treatment. Who is responsible for those? The FO.

But KC is on record that he likes his coaches and players. Sorry, fans will be pissed if that happens and revolt against KC.

b/c I believe the Carr deal is a joke. 40mg is a joke. I disagree with you on a trade. A trade could happen before the deadline. After the deadline yes its done.
