It's been awhile since Cano has come up with a big hit for the Mariners. A chance to end it and he grounds out. Why do I feel like the M's are gonna lose this game?

Cishek's splits last year and this year are actually very good in non save situations. He's given up 3 runs in 1/3 of an inning (81 ERA) in his one save opp this year, and 2 runs in his other 11 innings (1.64 ERA). Though it's usually not pretty.

Back on a win streak and back to within 1 game of .500!

Most importantly, we managed to win the game with CB behind the plate; what a loser he is.

Now we need Pax to get back on track tomorrow, and it'll be reinforcements weekend with Segura likely back and the King on the mound Friday. We've managed to stay afloat, now its time to fly past .500 as we inch closer to the all star break.

Can't believe they put Altavilla back out there in the 8th inning of a close game. This obsession with Altavilla needs to end. Yeah, he throws fast. Yeah, he's a gym rat. But he's given up 8 homeruns in 26 innings and his ERA is now north of 6. Miranda pitched what was only the 11th ultra quality start our pitching staff has had this entire season. He deserved the win. Altavilla pissed it away. Enough.

As soon as they brought him in I knew it spelled disaster. Luckily we still got the win, but no need to throw away a W for Miranda. I like Servais, but man he does some stupid shit. This teams talent has clearly blanketed Scott's stupidity at times.

Agree. We've seen the show too many times and given him to many chances. This pen really needs one of Cishek, altavilla or Zych to emerge as a reliable late inning guy. If they do end up being buyers a RH Reliever is something they need to get.

Apparently Vincent was unable and they wanted to avoid using Zych and Cishek so the options were limited.

I would normally be right with you on this, but I think his AB's have been much better. Even though the K's have increased, I think he has given himself better opportunities to put balls in play and with power. Not sure how to really explain it, but I don't see the K's as an issue...at this point. We all know he will never hit for average like Posey so getting production like he is supplying is well worth the K's.

Crossing my fingers and hoping you're right.

If Zunino could finally put it all together, that would be huge. Mostly because he's great behind the plate, has the natural ability to hit 30 HRs IMO, and the production we've had from our catchers over the years has been so poor that Zunino even being replacement level at the plate would be huge for the lineup. Offensively, catcher has been a black hole for us for a while.

Really weird timing with Felix and Kuma coming back soon. Plus I really didn't think they would call Moore up for just a start or 2, maybe this is a little bit of preparation for Gallardo to get the boot eventually.

The Moore timing is interesting. Since it's today I hope it's not Paxton related. Also could mean Kuma isn't gonna be back for a little longer. Hopefully it's for Gallardo tho

Kuma stunk in his last rehab so they are making do another. Isn't expected back til late next week at the earliest.

And there it is.....Let's face it Kuma doesn't really come around until the 2nd half of the season so why not wait... It's not like there is a huge gap with the wild card teams as of yet....
