I was referencing that article gk. I was talking about basically giving KC at or slightly less than the Luck deal, APY, Signing bonus, length of contract, the whole package. Only difference is the 3rd year wasn't completely (or at all) guaranteed. That gives us an out after 2018 if he doesn't perform. If he performs, he gets that 3rd year anyways right?? That's far from a cheap LTD. That makes him one of the highest paid players in the game. Obviously that's what it's going to take. I get it....what's an extra year and 25 million... I guess not much to us, be we arent signing the checks. Doesn't that show some sign of commitment??? And sure, there is a reason to sign that deal. It's called 80 millish if he plays the first 3 years of his contract. 140-150 if he turns into that guy we hope he can be.

KC nor his camp has said that. They have been total professionals about the situation and I commend him for that. That was honestly more of a smart ass comment for some of the fanbase that is acting like he is being treated like a 2nd class citizen because the FO isn't ready to throw the bank at him over a couple of good seasons. Maybe if Dak has another great season Big D should go ahead and forego the rest of his rookie contract and sign him LT to a $150 million contract. That is the equivalent of this situation...

Had this offer been made prior to giving him 24 million guaranteed, he may have taken it. He has no incentive to take it now. As for a third year, players should protect themselves with guaranteed years because owners can nullify a contract that isn't complete.

Dak situation would be far different. Dak would be under contract already. The team would actually own something there.

I think Brady looks real good when he has a defense that gives up an average of 16 points a game. Wonder how Cousins would look with a defense that good??

But yes I get it, Cousins isnt elite, so it makes perfect since to continue to chase after elite in the minds of some. The Patriots went 3-1 without Brady... so something tells me that the team around Tommy terrific has a bit more to do with it that the chasing elite crowd would ever admit to.

Brady puts up huge numbers no matter who he is playing with. Its been proven before that when the defense has stepped up in games KC did close the door. Another reason why Hopkins led or at the top of the NFL in FGA.

You don't get the point that Vt, I and others would take the wait and see approach. There is no risk in losing him this year. KC is not going to sign a LTD now so what is the point of even arguing this? Talk about beating dead horse. lol

not when our defense only gave up 13 points.

Dude.. seriously how lang are you going to kiss the defenses ass for actually holding one of the least productive offenses in the league last year to 13 points?? I see you forgave them for giving up 31 points in Dallas on Thanks Giving.

Bullshit. Stepping up would have meant NOT spending damn near 40 minutes on the field, and bailing your QB out when he was having an off game.

They managed to hold a team that scored 19 points per game to 13 point. Big fucking woop. But when we actually needed them to STOP the Giants and get the ball back... they FAILED.

shark nailed it. Long term deal can mean a lot of things. If he signs a long term deal that benefits the team and they can let him go in year or two for less than $52 million then I wouldn't sign. Skins have guaranteed him $23.94 million this year. Next year they let him walk or, transition tag him for $28 million or exclusive right tag him for $34 million. shark said $55 million, I am close .... I don't think he signs for less that $52 million guarantee. That would be my bottom line if I was McCartney.

you are right because that doesnt make economic sense for him to do otherwise

My bottom line is $55M Guaranteed, Mainly because I do think Dan and Bruce need that extra reminder that when they let their ego be the main motivator in a contract, it can bite them in the ass. :D

You are actually going to knock the defense in the Giants game? lol. Now I know you are losing it. You better make an appointment with the Psychiatrist .

There was a rumor that Elvis and Tupac were both still alive and living in Jamaica, did that make your little winky rise as well??

Face it dude, you rolled with it because it fit into what you wanted the team to do in any case.Deal Cousins and continue to chase elite.

So to you stepping up means spending 35+ minutes on the field, getting ONE sack, no picks, no forced fumbles and holding a team that averaged 19 point s per game to 13 points??

Simple, its not wait and see. Its move the goal post and hedge your bet JUST in case you have a shot to trade up in the draft for something more exciting.
