I don't think anybody thought he would beat the suspension, but to say that the NFL has something on him is a stretch given their own lead investigator recommended no suspension. Goodell just DECIDED it was good for the league to appear tough on DV regardless of whether or not any occurred. Elliot just happened to be the huckleberry he was looking for

Philly is the last game of the year and they might have Home field wrapped up. If they do, they would rest all their starters.

If it was "good" for the league then they should have fought harder to suspend him initially. Not now. The NFL is a complete joke and truly don't care about DV, Player Safety or anything they claim to be standing for
