I made a post yesterday regarding how Larry Fitzgerald restructured his contract twice in the last 2 years. He was due to be a 23M cap hit for AZ this year and I believe that was dwindled down to 14M.

I see the same coming to fruition with CJ next spring, should there be new management (and there should be) and their smart enough.
I read the links.

It'd be nice, for sure.

But I hate to say, imo we have 10 more games with Calvin in Honalulu Blue. He said he "do whatever he had to" to help keep Suh. He did nothing.

I don't see him taking money outnof his pocket. But I do see him being cut. I'll be sad that day, real sad. He was truelly a great.

I'm finding it funny that two of the biggest Stafford bashers are the ones wanting keep him

simple takeaway coming from me here.

1). Stafford already has NFL experience
2). having a coach like Sean Payton could elevate Stafford's play some
3). drafting another QB means most likely putting this team in another 3-4 year rebuild waiting for qb 2 develop

there's a lot more I could go with but I refuse to Big Lar here on this post only

First I will take Harbaugh if Ozzie comes with. That would surely mean Austin is retained.

Second, I'm finding it funny that two of the biggest Stafford bashers are the ones wanting keep him. I've accepted what he is and what he brings. He is never becoming elite. He can win with a defense and a run game. People wanting to trade or cut him will be hating life when you get EJ or some scrub.

I just wish some will quit trying to say he will be something different year 8,9 or beyond.
To quote OL, "It could be worse."

jmo, but how can you prove CJ did nothing to try to help keep Suh. Maybe it was all the constant BS coming out of Lewands ass and Mayhew's ass as those two may have very well been lying to the public on their alleged probability of keeping Suh. Furthermore, either Lewand or Mayhew may have shortchanged Suh in an offer so the need for CJ to restructure no longer was relevant.

I'm going with Mayhew low-balled Suh and therefore the need for CJ to restructure was meaningless by their thought process. I still would have restructured CJ in an attempt to bring higher quality FA's here. When I say restructure, I'm not talking about kicking the can down the road. I'm talking about lower his contract as a whole. Fitz is a quality person as much as CJ so I would tend to think that CJ wants to win as much as Fitz does and sometimes it's biting the bullet. I get your point in saying CJ can just say fuck it and get his guaranteed money.

I'd talk to Harbaugh, John not Jim

his specialty was as a special teams coach. imo, you're bringing a much better Caldwell but not a specific add to either side of the ball (offense/defense). He's a helluva coach in a micro-managing aspect but not a lot more than that.

Just thought I'd lend a hand..... Makin' mulch......

well, you know me and my problem with misinterpretation.

I am asking here politely, when I misread I want to be told and explained. I do have honest liabilities (T.B.I.) and I'm not making excuses for it either.

I just prefer to have the Kush... it truly does help many aspects of my life

There's one MAJOR problema with the Sean Payton for HC scenario.

You'd have to trade for him and this team cannot afford to lose 1 upper/higher round pick yet alone multiple ones, imo.

He got that new deal in late 2012 and it was for 5 years.

Sean Payton, New Orleans Saints agree to five-year contract extension, source says

I believe Chucky was traded for two 1st, 2nd

here it is
Oakland Raiders NFL Football Front Page
During the 2001-02 offseason, the Oakland Raiders allowed head coach Jon Gruden to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in exchange for 1st and 2nd round draft picks in 2002, a 1st round pick in 2003 and a 2nd round pick in 2004, plus cash. The trade continues to have an effective on the Raiders in 2011-12, albeit under the law of diminishing returns.

This is a breakdown of what happened to those picks, with Raider draft choices in bold.

The picks eventually were:

1st round/21st overall, 2002

2nd round/53rd overall, 2002

1st round/32nd overall, 2003

2nd round/33rd overall, 2004

Should Payton be fired then it's a whole nutha ballgame. However, in comes to play, does he go to warmer Miami climate and much better city overall where there are no state income taxes and possibly he sees them as the better ownership where he'd had more control than say the Lions ?

3) Draft or sign a combination of impactful front four player(s)and a LT. Reiff will be serviceable at LT in a power scheme. Taylor is a rotational guy. Can't say yet on Wright and Reid at DT. So just get

The above emboldened is why I'm talking about CJ's contract. This organization would absolutely need to reduce that contract cap hit in order to sign Reiff (he is going from 2.5M this year to that 5th yr option of 8M+ in 2016, unless he's extended and much much lower than 8M avg.). Levy gets that huge raise next year (4.4M 2015 to 7.65M 2016). Stafford goes from 17.7M in 2015 to 22.5M in 2016. CJ 20.5M in 2015 to 24M in 2016 but the out with him is cutting him and counting 12.916M without a true #1 WR.

wasn't meaning to go all cap specialist but you've got to weigh the cap hits and manage the $$$$

I could see that very easily happening. For me, much like Suh. It's just a bittersweet move for me. Rather see them in Detroit, but will easily be happy it's Miami.

This is my GM dream world Blue.

Is there a opt out clause? At any cost means... Show me you want to win Martha. I wouldn't be to giddy on giving up picks, but the mighty green can persuade many people.

Frank Reich is my second choice as HC. Not sure you get him to leave just for lateral move. His offense suits our personnel IMO.

I have no idea regarding that. I could see a "for cause" case for firing him on the Saints end but nothing more than that.

I'm not berating you wanting Sean as he'd be at the top of the list.

However, I couldn't justify giving up 1st round pick(s) for him either. A singular 1st rd in 2016 (yes, I could live with) and say 2017 3rd round but nothing higher or more than those two, cuz we sure as **** don't have one this coming year, thanks Mayhew for giving up another future round draft choice that we desperately needed.
