It didn't clearly get the leg. There's a chance it might have slightly grazed the leg, but from every camera angle, there's no conclusive evidence. You're just simple minded and saw the ball beat the runner and that's all your simple mind can process.

If that's "disputable" then my whole life has been turned upside down. I guess Ray Rice may have never hit his wife in that surveillance clip either.

This play always shows up on the worst umpire calls of all time lists, and was one of the plays mentioned when arguing in favor of replay.

I won't say Jerry Meals got the call right, but I will say if the play would have been reviewed it would have been a call stands. Yes, the throw beat Lugo by a mile, but it looks like the catcher whiffed on the tag. It's possible the tag grazed Lugo's thigh, but there's no video evidence to confirm this.

I will admit that I am nearly legally blind in my right eye and have to wear some coke bottle lenses(never knew I was blind until the pre employment physical for my current job, but now I sure enough can't see if I take my glasses off).

But, at most, the tag grazed Lugo's leg, the second video I posted shows more than two angles, and there's really no clear evidence that the tag landed. It's likely it did, but I still say if the play had been subject to review, it would have been a call stands.

But as for my Braves fandom skewing my judgement, that happened in the 2011 season, and if I had the ability to wipe out one season from everyone's memory, it would be 2011, so the play ultimately meant nothing for either team. Pirates never got close to contending and we had one of the most epic collapses in sports history that was overshadowed by the Red Sox collapsing in similar fashion.

That replay mostly needs to be done away with. As you can already see in this thread, even with video replay people still can’t agree on calls. “Conclusive” evidence is a crock of shit. Way too many times plays get overturned that are partial guesses or aren’t overturned when it’s pretty damn obvious. If you have to review something for more than a minute, it’s probably not “conclusive”

No one should EVER try to learn how to throw a GOOD 2-seam fastball
Either you can throw one with natural mechanics or you cannot. There is no fucking learning it.

You can learn every other pitch in my opinion but not the 2-seamer. Fuck those guy who can do it.

At most it was a graze, and not clear and convincing. It’s likely he got him, but not 100%
