John Hannah-literally larger than life.

Johnny Musso-all heart. Bear Bryant:"My perfect play would be Johnny Musso blocking for Johnny Musso."

David Palmer-electrifying-your heart jumped to your throat every time he touched the ball.

Kerry Goode-outstanding but was never the same after knee injury

Amari Cooper-gifted

Woodrow Lowe-tackling machine

Leroy Cook-198lb DE in early to mid-70's, headhunter

Derrick Thomas-speed, speed, and more speed off the edge.

Demeco Ryans-speed all over the field.

George Teague- big play man

I love it when he brings wild animals on the talk shows!!

Disclaimer before I get bashed, born in 1990 and raised a Bama fan. I know many of the greats but didn't get to watch them so they may not be listed.

Offense:
1. Shaun Alexander
2. Joe Namath - who doesn't love Broadway Joe?
3. Prothro - Very exciting playmaker (was at the game when he broke his leg, could hear a pin drop in BDS)
4. Julio Jones
5. Trent Richardson - that poor Ole Miss player is still tripping over himself

Defense
1. Demeco Ryans
2. Mark Barron
3. George Teague - I can watch his highlights from that game against Miami all day
4. Dre Kirkpatrick
5. Donta Hightower

Honorable Mentions
Brodie Croyle - could never stay healthy or beat the barners, but he had a cannon and I enjoyed watching him play.
Terrence Cody - monster.

I just don't see a valid Bama list not having Cornelius Bennett.

I take Bobby Humphrey over Mark Ingram all day everyday.

I've heard great things about him. Kenny stabler is another great one and Antonio Langham. Langham is probably my dad's favorite player, him or Namath. My dad has an awesome story of meeting Namath when my dad was in HS.

If you're going old school Pat Trammel, Bart Starr or Stabler would be my picks not a Namath fan.

Don't know a ton about Joe Namath. I did watch the SEC Storied on EPNU on Namath and really enjoyed it.

Thought he was very cool guy to like.

He was a stud but not a fan of his "style" now Bart Starr is a just a great human being on any scale. Pat Trammel was a hard nose football player who had a ton of heart and Stabler well he was a Raider so that gets him points in my book.

Offense:

1.) Every player who stayed and/or signed with USC after the sanctions were announced - They are why the program hasn't had a losing season (and are unlikely to) during the sanctions. The program was supposed to be crippled.......far from it.

2.) Marcus Allen - A true workhorse. Not the biggest guy, not the fastest guy, but sure could tote the rock.

3.) Lynn Swann - Arguably the most complete receiver USC has had.

4.) Mike Williams - Was only a Trojan for 2 years, but they were a pretty amazing 2 years. Too bad he got screwed over by the NCAA. He could have truly been special.

5.) Anthony Munoz - At a program known for great O-linemen, he is arguably the greatest.

Defense:

1.) Every player who stayed/signed with USC after the sanctions were announced. - See offense #1.

2.) Junior Seau - USC has had it's fair share of great LB's. He is the greatest.

3.) Troy Polamalu - Arguably the greatest defensive player in USC history.

4.) Ronnie Lott - Might be the only defensive player in USC history that has an argument to be ranked above Polamalu.

5.) Rey Maualuga - He was just so much fun too watch.

Special Mention:

Matt Barkley - Came in and started as a freshman, but perhaps his greatest accomplishment was stepping up and holding the team together after the sanctions hit.

I'm just taking mine back to the '99 season as that was my senior year in HS, got into VT and really started becoming a fan

Top 5's in no particular order

Offense:
Michael Vick
Tyrod Taylor
Lee Suggs
Kevin Jones
Danny Coale
David Wilson
Ryan Williams

(yeah, its 6, get over it)

Defense:
Bruce Smith
Macho Harris
DeAngelo Hall
Brandon Flowers
Kam Chancellor
Jason Worilds

and there are probably at least 6 or 7 other guys on defense that I liked watching just as much as the ones I listed

A couple I would add even though I never saw Bruce live, I saw some tape and he was a monster at VT. Let alone what he did in the NFL.

A great time to be a fan of the NFL. THose Bills teams were so awesome. Shame they never got the ultimate prize.

That defense with Smith, Bennett, and Talley. Lots of fun.
