He plays for the Mets, and he tends to struggle against us, even when we were rebuilding and he was at his peak. Why would I want him to go away?

I don't have an issue with him opting out. But he handled his decision in about the worst way possible. Lorenzo Cain opted out yesterday, but he talked with the team before making his decision, didn't just decide to take his ball and go home without saying anything.

Exactly. I have no issue with any player opting out of this joke of a season that will likely end like a Spring professional football league. Just do it the right way.
