I think Murray is regarded as the safest pick in the draft. He will become a very solid #2 defenseman. Not much chance he'll become the next Ray Bourque, not much chance he'll become a flop.

But seriously? A team that has a desperate need for top six forwards would have traded down if an offensive dynamo was available? In lieu of taking a guy who will be pretty much like three guys you already have? Yes, Murray will be another Jack Johnson. But you already have Jack Johnson. You also have Wisniewski and Moore, two more Jack Johnsons.

With a Center like Brassard or Johansen and an off side Winger like Rick Nash, Yakupov could be... DEADLY. And Howson would have passed him up?



At this point, I am pulling for "lockout".

To be honest nobody knows how good Garth is at his job because he really in't allowed to do it. He has no choice, but to say yes to Chuck's wims. The Islanders are doomed until Wang sells the team & that isn't likely to happen anytime soon.
