Corbin topped CC in Wins, ERA, IP, ERA+, gave up less HRs, walked less batters.

Last two years, Corbin has been better in every statistical category than CC. Wins, ERA, ERA+, IP. Corbin has a complete game and a shutout while CC's last CG was 2015 and his last shutout was in 2011. Yeah, CC is a proven vet, but he's also not getting any better than he was in 2017, while Corbin is improving and has improved in every stat over the last two years.

And they're signing CC to be a #4-5 starter.....there aren't many better at the back end of the rotation.
