My rating is based on the ppvs of the year as comparison. This was a great raw though LOL.

I thought, as a PPV as a whole, it lived up to expectations.

Lets look at the PPVs this year.

January - Royal Rumble - (I wouldn't expect Battleground to be better)
February - Elimination Chamber - (I didn't watch it)
March - no PPV in this month
April - WrestleMania - (I hope Battleground was a 2 compared to this)
May - Extreme Rules - (I think Battleground was better than this)
June - Money in the Bank - (I would never expect Battleground to be better than this)

WTF???

Rollings and Ambrose actually left the Areana in the middle of the PPV and NEVER came back. There was no explanation as to why the MITB holder was leaving before the title match where he just might want to cash in.
I still fully expected Rollings to show up after Cena won and Orton & Kane take Cena out so Rollings can cash in with Ambrose stopping him from cashing in again at the last second.

Didnt see it. Were either one of them showing their "injuries". Maybe WWE thought it would be better to make a story out of it if they were concerned with them being able to perform in the ring.

They need to finish this, otherwise they will get Rollins the title and constantly have Ambrose butting in and ending up causing disqualifications for the guys fighting Rollins for the title.

How can this not be one of the worst PPVs ever? The second most interesting match (arguably the most interesting) doesn't even happen? A guy wins by forfeit??! That alone requires a bad rating.

And the Miz wins the IC Battle Royal? Huh? He's lost like 32 of his last 35 matches against people not named Damien Sandow and now he gets a belt. His character is lame, he's small and looks out of shape, and nobody really cares either way about this clown. I always just FF through all his matches.

Lesnar could not be coming back at a better time. They are gonna need him after this clunker.

Not really. Rollings seemed fine and Ambrose still had the taped up shoulder he's had since the last PPV but otherwise showed no signs of the beatdown from Raw last week.

I didn't say it was a good PPV, I said it was better than expected. It was better than Extreme Rules.

It's like watching a Division II football game and being disappointed because it wasn't FBS quality. Battleground is supposed to be a glorified Raw. It even lasted 3-hours. I thought the expectations lived up. Now if SummerSlam goes like this, I would be very disappointed.

I think it was way worse than I expected.

Match that didn't happen, wrestlers that don't see opponents lying by the belt they're fighting for, Wyatt getting pinned by Jericho out of no where, Cena retaining by the skin of his teeth again, and continued mentions of a world leader that may be involved with the killing of 300 innocent airline passengers. No Lesnar or MITB cash in.

But maybe that's just me!!! :noidea:

Got home just in time for the last match, knew Cena would win but I thought it was mildly entertaining. Glad I didn't watch the rest

Maybe the continued worship by Lana/Rusev of Putin is a sign the PG era is about to be gone?!

Hoping Miz loses tonight to someone on RAW. Go back to making bad movies.

Too much ad revenue to end the PG era just yet! But maybe a slight loosening to PG-13 is in the near future???

Ziggler needs to beat the Miz for the title. If movies won't have the Miz maybe reality TV will take him back ASAP???

A lot of good points on both ends. The WWE becoming corporate was the worst thing that could ever have happened. There is no way in blue hell its ever going back to the attitude era. The over saturation of wrestlers and ridiculous gimmicks are just merchandising ploys. The title holders are directly related to merchandising and the now WWE movie picture makers. IE Miz makes a movie, returns, now champ. Of course. What a surprise!!!! Cenas merchandise is by and far the biggest revenue maker, so he will always be champ sooner or later. Ziggler is fucked, and its a damn shame.

* I was disappointed with the Ambrose-Rollins no match, or no involvement in any match.
* Not sure what you mean by the 2nd point.
* Jericho hit Wyatt with one of his signature moves before he pinned him. I thought that was an interesting match. Started out slow, but got better as it went on.
* The Fatal 4 Way match was better than I thought. I think Orton did good in it as aggressor and victim. I also thought they did a good job building up Cena vs Reigns moment.
* In the tag team, even though it did have a rerun feel to it, Harper and Jimmy were amazing in it. It still was entertaining.
* Was expecting more from the Battle Royal. Almost as disappointing as Ambrose and Rollins.
* Naomi looked great in the pre-Battleground match, even though she lost.
* AJ Lee is great. I think I really need to get used to Paige's "friendemies" gimmick. It took a while to get used to Bo's "BO-lieve" gimmick.
* I thought Lana was excellent. She is a great heel right now. She is now what Iron Sheik was in the 80s.

There's always been ridiculous gimmicks in pro wrestling. That is nothing new. Every single era has ridiculous gimmicks.

Thats all you took out of that? lol, well just to respond, the ridiculous gimmicks are used to just be tacked on side shows, they are put front and center now as a way to pull merchandise. If a guy is a complete hack, he can stick around as long as he sells shit.

Rather we have a guy like ziggler whos a fucking animal as a worker, has good mic skills, a decent character, and lays it all on the line day in and out. I really have been frustrated with the wwe for the last 5 months. Heres hoping that they dont fuck up sting, when if ever they finally do add him.
