That crummy AD of ours is at it again. Another SEC champ on our schedule

He has learned the error of buying out free shoes and Mich state in favor of JMU and Towson..........

West Virginia adds a home and home with Missouri for '16, '19. Mountaineers have proven they'll play anyone anywhere.

I like it but IMO we need to steal a page from the SEC playbook and start scheduling our "cupcake" games late in the year when we play games like this early. That Towson game would be pretty nice right now.

You need a big time rivarly game to end the season otherwise it's a waste.

Missouri has strangely been a better road team as of late for what thats worth.

We don't want that. Schedule local cupcakes from the ACC instead.

At least mizzou won their side of the conference on the field. Nobody had to vote them in to a championship game and they were not given a mulligan.:yahoo:

Great argument for why SoS matters. Doubtful they would have been in the top4 if they were in the west. A&M couldn't and they were obviously a better team.

Btw, Missouri wasn't in the SEC that year. And Alabama went to the SEC championship their 1st year, but played Georgia.

That last game would be fine but a weak ooc game or a bye this week rather than Texas would be helpful, its been a tough stretch of conference games. Much like Bama had the bye week last week before LSU, rare to see an SEC team play 5 in a row late. Just good scheduling on the SEC's part, its smart.

If we played another SEC team in November it would be absolutely crazy.

We play LSU this weekend(#20?). Then next weekend we have #1 Miss St, the cupcake and then #3 Auburn.

Usually Miss St is an auto win, but not this year. Miss St is playing their cupcake this week, so they are game planning 2 weeks in a row on top of it. LSU and Alabama always take a bye before our game this week lately.

In 2010, we played 6 SEC teams that were coming off bye weeks. It was pretty brutal. It was more than 50% of the SEC teams total bye games that year(only 1 that year, 12 teams - Alabama = 6 teams out of 11). 6 of our 8 SEC games were coming off byes. The SEC actually had to start changing the schedule some to prevent it, but next year we get 3 teams coming off byes IIRC. If the SEC leaves it open, we get teams off byes more times than not.

We pretty much need all the help we can get with these things. Price you pay when you have a big target on your back.

Personally, if I were picking your schedule I'd have your bye exactly where it is now. I don't think you really need a bye week before Texas, but it could prove crucial against K-State. Big12 needs to add more teams and drop down to 8 conference games. I know some of you like to brag about 9 games - but it's honestly dumb for a conference.
