You don't have to have seen Sugar Ray Robinson box to know all about him.

But, the territories were the best of times for pro wrestling, so many name wrestlers around then.
That is a fair point but then why is Ali nearly unanimously considered the GOAT of boxing when Marciano was ten times the fighter on paper? Ali is the perfect example of why wrestling is the greatest form of art because Ali copied Gorgeous George, every combat fight that draws money is based off wrestling promos and why the NBA and NFL get year around coverage is because all of the athletes grew up wrestling fans.

You pretty mich nailed it there. The illusion of violence the rasslers were able to produce is unlike anyhing else. And we all love it.

That....

I'm going to wipe him out Friday the 7th at the Cow Palace, totally destroy him, remember Friday the 7th at........

Gotta love it!

Impact on the sport has to be the first thing ya look at.

Lou Thesz

"Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers
Verne Gagne
Killer Kowalski
Fred Blassie
The Sheik
Edouard Carpentier
Antonio Rocca
Dick the Brusier
Fritz Von Erich
Ray Stevens
Bobo Brazil
The Destroyer
Sholhi "Giant" Baba

in that pre 1970 gang

"Superstar" Billy Graham

So did I at first, let's be honest he is pretty forgettable.

"Superfly" for Snuka count?
I’ll allow it.

One I also can’t believe I missed... Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat.
There’s also the Red Rooster and Tiger Mask.

I feel like we got the majority but I’m sure that there’s still a bunch out there that we’re either forgetting or were before our time or were in lesser known organizations.

Kind of a rassling history geek/freak, can talk Strangler Lewis, and the origins of the business. If a rassler was anyone at all I know about him.

Later after a couple mixed drinks I'll probably......oh yeah!!!!

My knowledge is pretty much anywhere mid 80s NWA/WCW and WWF on. I never really watched a lot of ECW or the smaller promotions. Watched TNA for a short time until Russo took over and ruined my interest. Now, I don’t know a lot about main roster WWE since I quit watching that in 2008 but keep up with New Japan and AEW.

I always hate to talk about age, people tend to treat you differently. I am 71 soon to be 72, so I have been into the rasslin' since the late 50's. Yep, Gorgeous George, Fred Blassie before the dye job, Wild Red Berry, Baron Leoni, the WWWF, Wrestling Revue magazine. Seen it all since around 1958ish, my granny loved it would watch it with her, I can stll hear her......HE IS PULLING HIS TRUNKS COME ON REF ARE YOU BLIND.....yep, she thought it was real and so did I........at first.
