I dont believe even the worst GM would sit on his hands and not have some type of plan in place if they were to lose a great player. Why would it even matter there was a plan or whether it was done quickly after Suh left. You guys call it panic and I just said it was an adjustment that was made quickly.

I'd want a deal done before seeing how the year goes. Do we really want to get a deal done in the 11th hour before he becomes a free agent?
I don't understand this stance.

Tag him. Hell, tag him twice.

Or let him be old elsewhere.

What would it cost to tag him?
The year after would not be doable with what Suh will be getting.

My understanding is that it means how long it's been since said team won playoff game. Mayhew has been the Lions GM since 2009. You said every team in the league besides the Bengals have won a playoff game since then. That's not even remotely close, since about 1/3 of the league hasn't even been to the playoffs since Mayhew has been the Lions GM.

You're right. I'm wrong. I misspoke. But it still shows how collectively (including Mayhew) the Lions are the worst run franchise over the past 25 years.

Im assuming he's a Top 4 DT salary wise. (Suh, McCoy.... :noidea:)

So a 20% raise. Or roughly 11.5 mil for 2016. (I think, didn't look up his actual pay. Going off me thinkin' he's getting 9.7ish. Good be wrong. Gandy will figger it out.)

Im with the Iggles on not signing over30somethings to anything of length. It'd cost us a little more most likely, but with financial risk for only one season. Both times.

Ngata has been a force for years, but is aging. And is one ADHD pill away from a year suspension. Im not looking for a longterm relationship on this one. Just a little fun in the sun. A quick roll in the NexTurf, if you will.

Prove it?!

Lol, that's a good one. Nobody here needs no stinkin' proof- they research NFL stuffs on the internet all day, so obviously they're far more qualified to be making these kinds of decisions than the actual NFL professionals are...

I'm glad you finally see that. Although I'm not sure about all these other bozos.

Isn't Ngata in the last year of his contract? So we'd just have to sign him to a new contract. I agree with you -- He stated he feels he has 3-4 more years of good football left. If he plays well next year -- I hope the Lions are able to keep him without going too crazy on his contract.

I want him extended now to free cap space and lower the 8.5 mill hit to sign at least one more FA.

Momma told me it was going to snow in Iowa last night. I ain't going that way. Gots me a little burn on the noodle in this 80 degree weather.

Are the best years always behind every guy over 30? Maybe? I do not need his best years. I still need 3 productive years. Same thing we are getting with CJ, possibly... I don't need 2K from him ever again. For the money he is getting yes, I do. He needs to be more productive. I know if Suh was 31 you would damn sure sign him three more years.

Not sure Ngata will resign? You can do a 3-4 year contract lower The 2015 hit. Low salary this year and big salary next year. Get bulk of guaranteed money out of the way by years end 2016 and you can cut with minimal dead money year 3 if needed and year 4 with none. It is not the cool way of doing things in Allen Park, but is sometimes in 31 other cities.

Introducing The Clown Show running the Detroit Lions. This is exactly how they should have dressed for the owners meetings.

I wouldn't trade multiple picks for any 31 year old, then extend him, unless hes a pocket passing QB.

Especially if theyre now in the drug program. way too risky for my blood.

Normally I am the same, but when it comes to interior lineman not so much. They just have to be big and get in someones way. They really don't have to be that athletic.

Athleticism and technique is the difference between great lineman and lane fillers. There is a huge difference in the two. I just don't see the difference being 10-15 million per.

If this were true Aaron Gibson would be in the HOF right now.
