If I have start the season today. Taveras is sitting on the bench, with the way he’s hitting this spring.

He would be in the minors if it was up to me.

Langford. Carter and Garcia just have to be the starting outfield.

I will miss Garver's boomstick. He did a really good job for us down the stretch and in the playoffs.

Duran went 2 for 3 and Smith went 1 for 3 with a double.

Lowe and Taveras continue to struggle.

Crim and Wendzel come in and both go 2 for 2.

Jose Corniell had an outstanding 2 inning outing. Birlingmair also had a really good inning to finish it off.

we either waste a spot on 26-man with him or DFA or trade him. he has NO options so those are options

Is Cole Winn getting the Spencer Howard treatment?

From Shawn McFarland:

Justin Foscue sure can hit: Which, to be fair, we already knew. The Rangers’ first-round pick from 2020 hit a pair of well-struck wall-ball doubles in the ‘B’ game, and he’s hit .350 (with a .909 OPS) in 20 Cactus League at bats, too.

The issue is not his bat, but where he’ll play defensively. Foscue, who has a career .276/.380/.499 slash line with 50 home runs in three minor league season, is a natural second baseman. That spot on the Rangers’ roster is occupied by ironman Marcus Semien. He’s in the thick of competition for reps at the Rangers’ designated hitter spot alongside Ezequiel Duran and Wyatt Langford, though the club is working him out at first base, too.

The 25-year-old logged six innings at first on Tuesday. He was unable to field a low throw from third base at one point, but made a handful of sharp defensive plays: he corralled a groundball that took an awkward, high hop in the infield, and also caught an errant throw down the line and spun to tag the base runner out.

Also from Shawn McFarland:

Young starters continue to struggle: The Rangers will, at some point this season and especially while they wait for a trio of starters to return from various injuries, will need some help in their starting rotation.

The question remains: who?

Two of the Rangers’ young options haven’t fared exceptionally well in the early Cactus League goings. Owen White allowed three runs on three hits and three walks against the Mariners, and Cole Winn served up Garver’s three-run home run as part of a four-run, two-hit, two-walk pair of innings.

White, in nine Cactus League innings, has a 9.00 ERA and has allowed 13 baserunners. Winn, in 5 and 2/3 innings, has a 9.53 ERA and has allowed 11 baserunners. Both were selected early in the 2018 MLB Draft; Winn in the first round and White in the second.

It's safe to say that neither of these two will be the answer this year in helping our starting rotation. If they are we are in trouble.

That is why I think we need to trade for a young starter to have at Round Rock.
