I don't think it's as bad as it used to be, but especially in Canada, these guys were put on a pedestal because they were good at playing hockey. Aside from that, they are just like the rest of society and when hockey players commit bad acts, they need to be held accountable. Instead, Hockey Canada seem to be focused on covering things up. Heads need to roll.

its so unseemly that minor hockey player registration dues were used to pay for that fund to payoff assault claims. At every AGM for our association the standard response for parent questions about why registration is so expensive is a) cost of buying/renting icetime and b) insurance ... ha! not the insurance we thought we have been paying for !

going back to your bold ... its true ... things are going to happen ... hockey is just a microcosm of society. The accountability (like in society) is lacking.

This year my sons team had an incident with another team and a player lost his shit and started threatening to kill the mothers of the players on our team. Some of you might think meh ... I did too when it happened ... until the kid made a move to try to go into the stands from the penalty box!

After this incident, a lot of emails went back and forth, accusations were made, adults were blamed (myself included lol ... i just re-read that email chain ... FUN TIMES lol) ... the end result ??? No punishment for the kid this in a year when Hockey Canada introduced a new rule (#11) regarding Maltreatment.

They put all the rules/standards/codes of conduct in place to show that they have them but when the rules are violated its how quickly can we make this thing go away.

The player told the camera operator that viewers were about to see "a f---ing lamb roast,” the three sources said. After the hallway interview, the camera was then carried into a room with a pool table, the source said.

The video shows roughly a half-dozen players taking turns having sex with a woman who was non-responsive and lying face up on the pool table, the source said.

Hang them.
