Just as I did for men's basketball conferences, I am rating the women's leagues using the same criteria: one point for each team in the NCAA Sweet 16 & 1 additional point for each win thereafter. For those teams that just missed the Sweet 16 by a regulation loss of 6 points or less, or an overtime loss of 9 points or less, they are awarded 0.75 points. The teams that lose by those same margins after reaching or advancing past the Sweet 16 will also get 0.75 points.
Teams in the WNIT Elite 8 will get 0.5 points, and a like total for advancing. Teams that just miss the Elite 8 or that fall later on by 6 points or less in regulation or 9 points or less in OT will receive 0.25 points.
