I believe right now the salary cap is 67M

did you know that if the ONLY players on the Cavs were:

Irving: 16
James: 22
Love: 18

and CLEARED THE WHOLE DECK- they would only have 11 million in cap room- LESS then enough to sign Tristan Thompon to a 12M dollar contract.....

BUT YAH--- salary cap was just SCREWED by Thompson. Turnup- do you now realize just how unbelievably stupid that comment of yours was? How- if you just would have done a LITTLE bit of thinking- and a LITTLE bit of math - you might have saved yourself a LITTLE credibility?

Rich Paul and LeBron had wanted Blatt fired LAST JANUARY. Please explain to me how if LeBron has this absolute power why was Blatt kept for a whole year passed that--- the truth is- James had wanted Blatt gone from day 1- but this year had come to a little bit of a detente (all you older soviet era people will appreciate that word-lol). He ACTUALLY said in the media earlier in the year that Blatt was "as good as any coach in the league". Of COURSE he didnt think that- but he was publicly supporting Blatt because he had accepted the idea that this guy was the coach DESPITE LeBron's proteststions to the opposite for a long time.

Wow! We should give lebron the Walter Payton Man of the Year award! What a great guy he is! :rolleyes2:

what does this post even mean? its 100% bullshit. You know that- I know that.

I am just asking- do you understand that their is a difference between the salary cap line- and the luxury tax line?

If you do- then you know that - SAY the Cavs gave Thomspon a contract that YOU believe was fair- say it was EVEN HALF of what he got- like 7-8 million AVERAGE a year- which is ridiculous- but whatever-

Say the cap goes up to 90 million a COUPLE years:

LeBron: 30 million (1/3 of cap)
Love: 20 million
Kyrie: 16 million
Shumpert: 10 million
Thompson: 8 million

Thats already 84 million for 5 players.

unless you think they could sneak in 7 more players for like 50 thousand dollars each - that doesnt leave much room to sign anyone, LOL- infact LESS than the middle level exception.

So now are you KIND of getting the picture- that where the Cavs are cap wise- an extra 5-6 million a year for Thompson- if they had that savings- would do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING FOR THEM and that your contention was 100% stupid and based on either incomplete information- or just total 100% ignorance?

ITS MATH- simple math a 6th grader could do.

I get the simple math, but it doesn't add up to winning a championship as constructed right now.

I think Love is gone this summer if things don't drastically change, and who knows what else?
Maybe James plays a year at a discount ?
We just don't know.
What we do know is that nobody is taking Tristan off their hands because James got him 2x what he's worth.

Have you ever heard of the luxury tax?

You were trying to build Lebron up by claiming he's a "coachmaker." He's not. He's had issues with every single NBA coach he's had. However, the 1 coach who had the backing of his FO and actually coached him, led him to 2 rings.

It requires assumptions and backwards logic to claim Lebron is a "coachmaker" when there is so much evidence of the exact opposite.

Meanwhile, in Cleveland, the 2 coaches that went to the finals with him got fired to appease him.

I'm not trying to "build him up" anymore than you're trying to "tear him down". We're both just sharing our opinions. I wish you would stop trying to make it more than that.

My point was that I think his coaches have benefited more from LeBron more than they have been hurt by him. If we're going to sit here and talk about all the wrongs LeBron has committed against his coaches for 52 pages... its perfectly fair and relevant to point out that they have also benefited from the relationship.

The Cavs fans and Lebroniacs have become stalker level creepy in their need to argue/deflect/defend Lebron. Anytime anyone criticizes Lebron, it's guaranteed that Lebroniacs and Cavs fans will rush to his defense.

This is just garbage. This is what I'm talking about.

This Ad Hominem crap is so lame. Attack my arguments. Counter my points or opinions. You guys see things differently and a lot of the time that ends in me considering things in a different way and learning.

I have always acknowledged some level of bias in my opinions - something you and turnup have ridiculously been unwilling to do. But I approach this stuff with way more objectivity than you give me credit for when you start going this route. If I'm so completely un-objective... it should be an easy chore to tear apart my arguments instead of attacking me as a poster.

The fact that you think this somehow absolves Lebron or means he doesn't hold the level of power that he does, shows that really don't know how this stuff works.

If Blatt was fired last January, the criticism would have been even worse and there would be no possible way for Lebron to deny involvement in Blatt's firing. The way it was handled, while still not great, was much smarter than firing him last January would have been. Now they can say, as they have, that "all of the veterans wanted Blatt gone." Nevermind that a big part of the reason they want him gone is because Lebron poisoned the well.

ohh so you are saying that DAvid Griffin kept DAvid Blatt for an extra year to protect LEBron's reputation? cmon man. If you think the GM of the team would do that then i just dont know what to say.

Closer to $140m

in tax alone
yo bro...recheck your list. your workin with information that is far from accurate. You want me to point out the inaccuracies or do you think you could figure them out? it took me about 8 seconds.-- just saying- that was an estimate from probably back in june.

I'm not implying he did or didn't, but Riley's quote doesn't rule out anything other then James walking personally into his office and asking for him to be fired.

Yeah, that's a very fair point.

But it starts to feel very conspiracy-theory-esque with the whole "nobody wants to tell the REAL truth". Riley is not exactly the person you'd expect to protect LeBron's image.

No, I wasn't tearing him down. In fact, I stated that Lebron doesn't qualify as a "coach killer." I simply stated the facts that he has gone to the finals with 2 coaches in Cleveland and both were fired to appease him and that the one place where he was actually coached, resulted in 2 championships. That's not building him up or tearing him down. It's stating facts about what has happened. The only "opinion" I've presented is that he's not a "coach killer."

Stating that he's a "coachmaker" is a statement of opinion.

yah... we cant rule a lot of stuff out

i mean- the flying monkey that lives in LEBron's ass could have asked for Spoelstra to be fired....

That's because you really have no clue about how important image is for both players and teams.

Of course it's conspiracy theory-esque. Because it's a conspiracy. Of course, it's not a "the truth is out there" or "9/11 was an inside job" type of conspiracy, it's freaking basketball.

But it is to the benefit of Lebron's brand and legacy as well as the Cavs brand and legacy to do what they can to give Lebron a plausible way to deny involvement. In fact, it's even to the benefit of the NBA as a whole because no one wants to see players have that kind of power.
