Her WNBA salary is 10% of her total income. If her reps are worried about anything, it should be her Russian career.

lol @some people trying to make it about a gender pay gap. The only reason the WNBA even still exists is because the NBA subsidizes it.

It has gotten better, but unless I missed something, it is not a profitable league.

Star level players like Griner do make enough that they don't have to play overseas, I believe she makes over $220,000. But they can make over $1 million playing overseas where the Womens game is far more popular.

It’s a marketing budget for the companies that own teams in Asia and Russia etc

In those countries the companies associate with winners benefit

The women are the best female team in the world but the men's game brings in so much more money than the women's game so even crappy teams like the U.S. men get more money. Gender equality in pay is ridiculous. You get paid on your value to the industry or business you are in.
If the Brazil-U.S. men'sgame brings in twice as much as the Brazil-U.S. women's game then obviously the men should get paid more.
