Game Thread: Wisconsin vs. Arizona

I hate the refs this year.... so unpredictable.

Miss easy calls like traveling.... but call tick-tack body fouls when the defender has good position and the driver dives into their chest to draw contact. To me, if the offensive player dives into a defensive player who has good lateral position, it should be a foul just because he is moving. I hate the new rules.

Helluva match-up.

It would be a good game. We played down to the final minute at Zona last year and blew a lead in the final 2 mins.

The teams look very similar this year with Zona maybe being a bit better in the backcourt and Florida being a little better at forward position. Down low I would say equal.

It's fairly predictable. If you make a move to the basket, and go into your shot motion and take contact, they are generally going to call a foul. If you have picked up your dribble, and are pivoting and go straight up then it is up to their discretion.

The calls on players moving towards the basket are more cut and dry, the officials have been calling it that way all year long.

Yeah, that seems to be his go-to move on the post tonight. He has hooked Gordon 3 times, 2 were non-calls and one was called an offensive foul on Gordon.


No matter, the refs will not decide this game. Have to play through it.

I think Arizona with their superior defense is more than happy to keep this slow pace. I am sure they would like to speed up the pace but that might allow Wisconsin to get into some offensive rhythm.
