Same # as Clemson and MORE than Ohio State. Bucky didn't do it with a bunch of 5-star guys, either

Can you imagine if Wisconsin’s coaching staff actually got 5 star guys?

I'm going to have to give a shout out to little brother and their coach Mark D'antonio ... they used to do more with 3 star talent than anyone else.

MSU has the occasional speed bump season, but overall an extremely respectable program.
It's been pretty much speedbumps for four years now. 2017 was a decent year with the Penn State win, but otherwise it wasn't exactly dominant. Got smoked twice by two of the three best teams they faced. The other three season have been ass. He's clearly on the downslope, and he refuses to improve his offense for whatever reason. If they had a mediocre/average defense, they'd probably be at a Rutgers level.

OT, RB’s, Watt brothers. Almost every high recruit they do get...it works out. Higher success rate. With all the 5 stars Bama gets that is a high number but the success rate probably nothing special, same with Ohio St, Oklahoma and Clemson. Success rate as in highly recruited player becoming an AA

Could also make the argument that they hit bigger with fewer big name players because their are fewer studs to lean on. If you have five former 5 star wide outs and three former 5 star running backs you can spread the ball out, taking from stats. If you have one 5 star dude at running back and some big boys up front, they are more likely to get highlighted.

Not slighting Wisconsin, just some food for thought.

JJ Watt was a walk on after leaving a directional Michigan school...His brothers were 3 and 4 stars as I recall it...and most of the rest of them were nothing the blue bloods thought of as gets...so don't believe his post...they develop the guys they get because it's not a destination for the 5 star guys...good, bad or indifferent...it is what it is
