Winter Classic weather....

I know it is early, but right now the forecast says 51 and rainy....this is the nightmare people were concerned about.

The air temperature does not bother me that much as they have a cooling system in place (albeit a mobile one) and 51 is plenty cooler than mist arenas, but the rain could cause a significant issue, I would think.

ya 51 isn't bad.. my guess is they dont mind that at all.. but i'm sayin cover it and hope the temps drop to make the precip snow.. they can deal with snow

They're actually predicting rain from Thursday on through at the moment... I would think they would need to fashion some sort of tarp for it.

Eh, I see that more as the NHL/NBC not wanting a Canadian team in the Winter Classic, but I guess we could count that even though the NHL isnt hyping it at all.

I agree that it should involve more teams. The NHL want's to promote the game and that's fine but if the team's/players that they constantly jam on people are eliminated early in they playoffs most casual fans will not watch because they can not relate to the teams that are in the playoffs.

I have heard some argue that the casual fan only watches to see the stars (WC) but I disagree 10000000% with that because a game like this where casual fans will watch no mater what teams are playing is the perfect opportunity to get their attention to the GAME and not just a select few superstars (focus).

Crosby and OV are great! no doubt about that but I know from people that are not die hard hockey fans will watch at least a little bit of this game.

I hate the NBA but would check it out if they played an out door game and I wouldn't care what teams were playing. Am I wrong here or what? Think about it, if you hate the NBA and they had an out door game would the teams or the fact that it is an outdoor game make you tune in?

Once again the NHL misses the boat. JMHO.
