Denver would be epic. When you think about it, the big teams of the recent years have mostly played. The hyped up teams that is. So, they're gonna HAVE to branch out, right? Too bad they probs won't do DET again...Wings/Avs would be a nice throwback rivalry. Do the Avs have another big rival? Kings? Still think Kings are in it next.

I mean, I understand that the numbers and viewers are generally in the east, but there are some places out west that remain untapped that he can really get to. Colorado is one of those places. They had TONS of fans back in the day, those numbers have decreased a bit, but with the good youth they have right now, they can really take advantage of this. Kings are very similar. HUGE market, exciting team, exploit that!

The rivalry has cooled off because they dont play each other that much anymore but I think a 'Wings - Leafs game might be a good one in the next couple years if the Leafs improve.

I know what you mean, I'm just saying Bettman wont do it. He loves Crosby Vs OV too much, and the risk of the casuals/sports media not caring about a non East team is too big.

i dont think they will be though, cause from the way i understood it, the fans pick all the all-stars, then the all-stars vote on the captains, then the captains pick the teams.. sid and ov aren't that popular amongst players..

Of course I would love my Kings to get a game. NBC wants ratings.
Now I know this will never happen. During the draft a reporter from the local CBS asked Bettman when LA would get a game and the answer was "I don't see that happening".
AEG (the company that owns the Kings) is trying to build a stadium next to Staples. Completion date is hoped to be 2016. LA has the Rose bowl on New Years Day, which would make it difficult to have hockey on the same day. However in 2017 the Rose bowl game is on Jan 2 (due to an the first being a Sunday).
New Football Stadium with retractable roof, owned by the Kings, lots of media already in town, lots of celebs/ex athletes in town, lots of sports fans with nothing to do in town are all good for the NHL. Ok no chance of snow, and (biggest reason) the Kings are not a big TV draw, but I can dream.

Well would you rather have teams repeat, or see a Stars-Yotes classic?

I would love a Flyers game at the Linc. It is magical.
