I think Mike Illitch has been campaigning for some time trying to get the Wings back in the East. I agree dare that it probably makes the most sense to put the Preds in the SE division.

I dont think the NHL would split up Detroit from its West rivals.

Knew it was only a matter of time before these 'white knight' groups started showing up. These really aren't going to be serious bids, just local people with barely enough money trying to look like heroes and keep the team in that area. In reality, they likely don't have enough cash to sustain them going forward.

You will start seeing reports like this from Atlanta sites as it gets increasingly desperate and the Thrashers closer to moving. They look for any glimmer of hope and overreact to it.

Just because a company owns a debt to an arena, doesn't mean they are as a whole in debt themselves. Looks like to me TN feels that because MTS is a publicy shared arena, the gov't should pay it's share as well.
