Okay, I have taken my medicine, didn't even taste that bad. Watched the parade while babysitting today. Thought it was really cool. I have no idea about parades in other cities. Are they always that crazy?
Seriously I have nothing but respect for Denver and their whole organization and fan base. Even though they used to kick our asses almost every season. Same can be said about the Niners, In the 80's I really enjoyed their games.
Green bay, when I was in first grade all of us picked teams. I picked GB cause we didn't have a team.
So I have made nice with all of you but today, YOU CAN STILL SUCK IT!
Tomorrow we can talk trash about the upcoming season.

Are you this condescending to Packer fans when they are exuberant after a win?

I'm going to guess no.

Lol, it would depend on my mood. I probably wouldn't have even said anything here except I was feeling a little cranky and it does more than kind of bug me when fans latch on to their team's accomplishments like they themselves did it.

That said, I should be more understanding because the euphoria in Seattle over the last year and a half or so does actually remind me a lot of Green Bay in 1995-1996 when it became apparent they were the best team in the league after 29 years or so of utter futility. The city was in a Packer frenzy much like Seattle seems to be this year.

AND, I also realized a few weeks ago that this is no longer ESPN and I've tried to be nicer about gratuitous Seahawks posts since I understand the enthusiasm. Most of the posters I mainly disliked aren't here. I think I've mostly accomplished this the last few weeks. Forgive my occasional blunder!

Edit - lol, for the record I typed this before geezer made his nice post

LOL yeah..I love those youtube videos of fans of teams who win championships and they start crying..like its such a struggle being a fan watching tv /games.

You're a Packers fan.

I'm a Steelers fan.

Winning just is who we are. We've never had to struggle for long periods of time. Well, the Steelers did but it was before I was born.

Still..as long as I've been alive my Steelers have been winning.

6 Lombardi's, 8 Lamar Hunts, 20+ men in the HoF, etc.

But it's not that way for all franchises. For some, it seems that you take one step forwards and two steps back (Cleveland).

It's HARD to win a SB. I think there are 13 franchises that don't have a single Lombardi. She's a fickle mistress. (I think the ones that aren't are: Bills, Bengals, Browns, Texans, Jags, Titans, Chargers, Eagles, Lions, Vikings, Falcons, Panthers, Cards.

Of those there are a few that have never even been there: Browns, Texans, Jags, Lions.

For fans of clubs that have hung with their clubs for that long...every year seemed it was a down year and other fans rip on you for supporting your team....when you finally get there, yeah - some cry.

Hell, I know I did after our wins in 2005 and 2008. I thought SB XLIII was going to give me a heart attack right at the end.

So if a Seahawk fan is so happy he or she wants to cry - let them. Let them enjoy it.

Without the fans, there is no NFL.

so nice to see Hawks fans being gracious winners

And to think last week they badgered one of thir own for cluttering up the general Board for posting a Seahawks video.
Saying threads needed to be kept on the Saettle board..........But now its full of Seahawk nonsense.

Glad they practice what they preach.

The enthusiasm here is really over the top. On the road, 12 flags flying, people standing up in sunroofs screaming, honking. Go anywhere and it is "go hawks". Amazing how something like this really brings people together. Highly recommend it to all the franchises in the NFL that have not made it yet. Soon as all the stars and planets line up. It has taken so long.

I do actually get it. The Packers SUFFERED from Super Bowl 2 through 31. They were one of the very worst teams in the league for the 25ish years before Holmgren and Favre arrived. When it became apparent that the Packers were probably the best team in the league in 1996, the city went just as crazy as Seattle and despite how the national media likes to portray my city, most people here are pretty casual fans or don't follow football at all... just like everywhere else. I'm sure if message boards existed at the time we probably would have been a little obnoxious at times.

I get fan emotion but bragging by fans bugs me. But I'm trying to see the context and be a kinder, gentler cwood.

The Seahawks have been around for a very long time, too. I'm curious how this impacts fan excitement?

sorry but you cant really complain about a team losing until after about 100 or 1000 years because the odds of getting there being 1 of 32 teams is pretty steep.
The NFL doesn't survive because of anyones emotional involvement for a team. It survives because people buy tickets, merch and tv time. It doesn't matter whether I was a fan of a winning or losing team, I would still have the same viewpoint. I gain and lose nothing from a team winning or losing except an excuse to party for a while LOL

I didn't cry, but have not been able to let a single thing bother me since Sunday. I think why a lot of us 12th man fans get so pumped is because of Behring almost stealing our team and sending them to LA. It was so close to happening it still gets me pissed.

Paul Allen came in scooped us from the dregs (although it didn't look that way at first).

Sometimes it didn't work but he always opened his checkbook and tried to build a winner.

I truly believe that in the back of our minds that we do not want to let Mr. Allen down for saving our team.

Of course I am referring to diehards like me, but it sure is nice to see all of the extra support we are getting right now! Go! Hawks!!!

You're not making sense. You should think about what you wrote here a little more... If I am not emotionally attached to my team that sucks, why would I buy season tickets, Jerseys, and spend Sunday watching them on TV, when I could be out fund raising for world hunger or something like that?
