I disagree with you on the zone read in the red zone as it can be very effective when used. If Griffin doesn't slide it or get out of bounds that's on him. Most of his bad hits he's taken in his career so far have been his own fault IMO and not a product of zone read play calls.

Given the health history of the QB, I would use it very sparingly...i.e. to get that critical 1st down, etc. As one poster mentioned...showing the formation as a decoy makes sense, because teams will have to respect it.
