Matt Nagy: Bears open to Cody Whitehair and James Daniels switching positions
A couple of thoughts on this. Just about everyone thought from the moment Pace took Daniels in the 2nd round that he would assume duties at center, his natural position, and in the process moving Cody back to his natural position at guard. It's not as if Whitehair had been rocking it during his stint at the center spot. And why would Pace use a valuable 2nd rounder on a center if he's not going to play that position?
And yet both played extremely well at their respective spots. Whitehair turned out perhaps his best overall performance since joining the Bears, while Daniels, despite getting off to a slowish start, ending up becoming a mainstay and a force to be reckoned with as a guard. So the question is do the Bears want to upset the applecart? This should be an intriguing storyline during the OTAs, camp, and preseason.
