AJ still puts up great numbers. The QB is getting him the ball.

He had a wide open shot to pull the team into the game, and flat out dropped the ball.

It happens.

Especially if you are a Bengal.

uhh, he had 2 guys on him

Isn't a superstar supposed to make other players around him better, or does that rule only apply for Quarterbacks and NBA players?

AJ DOES make Andy look better than he is. I'm not sure what else you expect from him.

Of all the issues with this team and franchise, AJ Green is NOT one of them. I'm really not sure what kind of point you're trying to make?

You can hate on Brandon Weeden and Jason Campbell all you want, but they at least have arms. Green isn't a threat more than 17 yards down the field because Andy can't throw that far.

The Cleveland offense doesn't rely almost entirely on balls traveling less than 5 yards in the air down the field.

So, that 40 yard pass that green dropped was thrown by someone else?

Or that 40 yard pass that Marvin Jones caught, that was perfectly led by Dalton down the sideline.

Wide open? Why don't you check on that again.

The ball hit him nearly in stride, in the hands.

I'm sorry that Dalton couldn't have walked it 40+ yards up field and handed the ball to AJ for him to catch.

He had guys on him, but he had beaten coverage. It's a kind of play a team NEEDS their star player to make in a crucial game.

Whatever man. We ALL know Andy can't throw a deep ball and it isn't really a part of our offense. He made a good pass downfield today to Marvin, and another decent one out of necessity late in the game.

I am sure someone could provide the PFF stats on our offensive passes actually down the field.

Don't try to cherry pick specific plays when you and I both know our offense is 90% passes less than 10 yards.

My only point is that he always seems to above any kind of criticism.

AJ was so open on that drop that the announcers were all over the defender for allowing him to get that open.

Yes, it should have been a catch, but AJ isn't the weak link in our team, nor was he the reason we lost.

So you can blame the 3 time pro-bowler, and not the guy who hasn't had a QB rating above 30 in any playoff game.

I agree with this. And he didn't make the play.
My point is that he'll get no criticism for not making it. But Dalton and Gruden and Gresham and Cook and Rey M and Dre and Tate will all get shit for their fuck ups.

He's obviously not the reason we lost. I'm fairly sure we can all agree the weak link on that offense is Dalton. There should be no argument.

But we are getting ready to hand AJ a HUGE contract and that will significantly cut into the one strength of this team - It's depth. And I'm just not sure how much a longterm AJ helps if we plan to stick with Andy and Jay. He's clearly reached his peak abilities in our offense..... In fact, he might have reached his peak in our offense in week 1 of his rookie year.

Andy is a fucking bum. He'll be here til 2020. We won't win a single playoff game in that time. Bookmark this, bitches.
