Imagine how much money you guys could have saved Uncle Phil if you just drove a rusty nail into a wall somewhere and told recruits: "You see that rusty nail? Dan Fouts hung his helmet from that nail"!!![]()

Well, good thing you're not a great athlete. Because it would be absurd to pick a school based on their athletic facilities.
They've recruiting decently in the past few classes because they've had some on field success, not because they've built a new building.

he $70 million McKay Center which is every bit as state of the art as what the Ducks have!!
I believe the Ducks lift "solid gold" barbells (100 billion) at their new facilty.. Something about "Win the PURE Game"...marketing these days, you know.
I love all this attention, shows how jealous they are and how scared they are when their precious local 5 star talent takes a trip out West to Eugene and see's that Eugene, OR is the mecca of college football now.
yes because Oregon wins so many Natty's on a platter YOU FACE!![]()
Pretty close. All kidding aside, here is my assessment of Oregon football!! I think most Oregon fans would agree with this!! If not, I'm sure we'll all hear about it!!
For the vast majority of their existence, Oregon was a doormat. A .500 season was considered successful for them!! Somewhere along the way, someone at the school with the power to influence, decided that they didn't want Oregon to be a doormat anymore!!
They looked around and realized that they didn't have the "natural resources" to draw recruits like the "blue bloods" such as USC, Michigan, Alabama, etc. could draw!! They can't show them a bunch of NC trophies and Heisman's. At this point, they could have just given up on the idea and remained a doormat!!
Instead, they decided to look at what they could do!! One thing that they could do, that the blue bloods couldn't, was take a flyer on young, inexperienced coaches that had a unique style of play that would be fun to watch and to play. They knew that if they brought in coaches like that and it failed, their fans weren't going to go ballistic.
So they brought those coaches in, got the 2 and 3 star recruits that they could get and coached them up. Along the way, the developed their own unique "coaching tree" in which the current coach built upon the style of the coach that preceded him.
The other thing they had going for them was a rich Uncle Phil who was willing to make sure they had the most modern looking uniforms and was willing to foot the bill for hundreds of millions of dollars in facility upgrades and of course, the new facility that seems to have so many panties in a twist!!
Personally, I see nothing wrong with a program using the resources that they have to put themselves on an even playing field. Also, as a fan of a "blue blood" program, I think it's hilarious that so many other fans of "blue blood" programs are so invested in telling the Ducks what they CAN'T do and how certain they are that the current success won't last!!
They've recruiting decently in the past few classes because they've had some on field success, not because they've built a new building. When the success goes away, the recruits stop coming.
Past few? how many do you consider past few? Oregon has had pretty solid recruiting classes for a while.
what are you calling solid recruiting classes? anything in the top 20?.. because Oregon's recruiting classes have been quite lackluster in the last 7 years .. the highest ranked class you had was 9th in 2011 the worst class was 32nd in 09.. last year it was 16 and even this year its ranked at 22..

Not thinking they get it outside the south!![]()
