If my memory serves me right, the Minnesota Vikings won the NFC North last year, correct? So why does every preseason magazine have Green Bay winning the North? I know Jordy Nelson is back but they have big questions on defense and as far as I can tell Minnesota should be better this year. Our "D" was downright nasty the last few games and all of the main cogs are still there. Just wondering what everyone thinks about this?

Aaron Rodgers vs Teddy Bridgewater is probably the long & short of it.

Aaron Rodgers is a lot better than the 2015 version of Teddy Bridgewater. Give him a deep threat in Nelson and the offense opens up. Pretty much it, doesn't really matter how talented the Vikings defense is at that point unless Teddy improves. The Vikings had 9.8 Pythag wins which is a +1.2, only the Colts (1.9) Broncos (2.3) and Panthers (2.9) had more pythag luck.

Teddy is still unproven and there wasn't much of a difference between Green Bay and Minnesota last year.

When in doubt, go with the better QB.

Teddy hate because people don't understand the development of NFL QBs.

The Vikings are one of the few teams that could click on all cylinders. Run and pass on both sides of the ball.

I would say any ranking in the top 10 is showing some love. If one team is 5 and the other 6 or one is 7 and the other 8 it is showing about equal.

Plus there may be the situation that the Packers have the easiest schedule this year based on last years records playing a factor

Viking fan, but GB's defense is better than some of us perceive, they did quite well. I think many of us still have fond memories of Kaepernick running untouched through it.

I think MN's defense is better...but Rodgers and Vikings have only done it one year, need consistency, which GB has.

Vikings have gotten some national love, we wont get it all

Depends how Bridgewater develops ... He's got some playoff experience now so if he can take his game to another level Viks could be solid ..

If he takes the step I think he can, we'll be solid

Bridgewater will never be rodgers, but he can be in the Hasselbeck in his prime category...or Andy Dalton type, hopefully wiht more playoff success

Because Green Bay is a better team. Next question

As most are saying, it largely depends if TB is ready to move forward again after a strong rookie season and sort of a running in sand type 2nd season, not terrible, but need to be better to get in that dbl digit win area again.

IMO GB could be a 12 win team this yr.

How long can Peterson defy Father Time? Age 31 and almost 2400 carries; the decline will come.

FootballOutsiders had Minnesota at 11th last year in efficiency and with their model predicted them to get 9.5 wins. I think I saw some stats that showed they were very clutch in the regular season on offense and defense and their model doesn't really factor in clutch IIRC.

I think its fair to have expectations as a Vikings fan. They'll likely have 8-11 wins

Which is exactly why Bridgewater has to take the next step. I could also see McKinnon taking some of Peterson's workload. He's a shiftier guy in more of a Warrick Dunn mold (I'm not putting him on Dunn's level yet, but their skill sets are similar).

I think that regardless of what happens, this is likely Peterson's last season in purple.

There is a football team in Minnesota?

Why wasn't I told of this?
