Let me explain my logic. One team has 47.5% of control and the other has 47.5% of control over who wins the game. In professional sports, where each team is given the same resources to make teams, everybody is really close in talent. Even the best teams aren’t much more talented than the worst. Therefore, when I say each team has that control over if they win or not, if they use their opportunity to win equally as effective as the opponent, the winner is decided by the 5% of control the referees have. So, when I say the referees have 5% of control, I mean they aren’t going to win the game for a team that just flat out doesn’t show up, but they will almost certainly be the deciding factor in all close games. Especially if they blow calls in the final seconds. 5% of the effect doesn’t sound like much, but it actually ends up being a lot when you really think of it.I'll agree on the 95 to 5% ratio. That's why I don't think refs decide over 50% of games like you
I’m not really even arguing about this specific game. I’m arguing about referees in general.JAX had already given up from where I sat.
Taking that knee at end of first half. 3 points there changes everything.

Well in sports without ties, the true winner is who the ref favors in these evenly matched competitions.
Not to beat a dead horse, but maybe coaching and player discipline helps to achieve few penalty calls.
See!? So you agree with me, right!?!?Us Pat's fans know all too well in the 86 SB , refs gift wrapped that game for the SB Shuffle crew
Yeah, I don’t hate them. They have a very tough job and assholes blame them for their teams losses (and probably take out all the shiftiness in their lives on referees too.)I'm OK with referees in general.

Why isn't anyone talking about what a great play that was when Lewis fumbled?
Trick play that was broken up by a forced fumble after a lateral pass all the way across the field. That Jaguar literally ripped the ball out of the runner's hand. But what a play, perfectly executed, except for ... a fantastic defensive play.
The Jags were up 10 points in the 4th when Amendola fumbled. Myles Jack picked up the ball and ran down the sideline for a guaranteed TD but the ref blew the play dead (which he shouldnt have). If the ref simply doesnt blow the whistle on a LIVE play... GAME OVER and the Jaguars are in the SB
Did I miss the conversation? I'd be absolutely IRATE if my team lost that way.
