Lindsay Whalen said the same thing "Where are her teammates? You have to have her back."

She theorized that they are a younger team and not up for it yet. But she still wasn't happy that Clark was left on an island like that.

She's a rookie...did people honestly think that she was just going to come in and start dominating like she did in college? Diana Taurasi said before the season started that she needed to "get ready" because teams were going to target her.

Being targeted is what happens to every player who comes in with a ton of hype. The veterans are going to see what she's made of. Doesn't matter what sport or league, some hotshot rookie comes in...they're getting tested.

Add to that the fact that the Fever didn't have the #1 pick because they were such a good team and it allows the opponents to focus most of their attention on her. Of course she's going to struggle some.

Also, she really hasn't been all that bad. Watched her shoot 0-7 from 3 vs the Sparks, only to nail a couple of late 3's to secure the Fevers first win. She has reached 150 point, 50 rebounds and 50 assists faster than anyone in league history and in 1 game put together a line of points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks that had only been put together 3 times in league history...all by 3 of the greatest players in league history and none of them did it when they were rookies.

I do think that some of what's been done to her has been a little over the top and their coach needs to have a serious talk with her teammates for not having her back in those situations.

Someone, I forget who, mentioned Maurice Lucas. That's exactly what they need...their own version of him. Everyone knew that if he was on the team and someone took a cheap shot on their star player...he was going to do something about it.

I think she'll be just fine and will eventually live up to the hype.
