Even though Skip predicted a Super Bowl appearance with Alex Smith as QB (before Kaep played), he'd have said no, we couldn't to this question if it were about Alex, but Tebow could. I understand that Tebow runs more than Alex and I know that comebacks of more than 2 scores is more known with Tebow than Smith, but just in general? I think if you could say Tebow could get here, Alex could have if he didn't get two three and outs to start the Falcons game (more running, more checkdowns with YAC, could have gotten first downs instead of three and outs).

Not 49ers related but to back your statement..... The last day of the baseball season when Miguel Cabrera clinched the Triple Crown I went to ESPN just to see what they were going to have on the main page and when I was there I was shocked because it was a picture of Robinson Cano and the main story was about the Yankees in the playoffs.

The network is only good for the amount of live games they air. That is it.

They could use him the same way the 49ers used Kaepernick early in the season. Tebow could run a poor man's version of the Pistol in a pinch I believe.

I am fully, 100%, completely AGAINST bringing in Tebow as the backup next year...

However (as much as I hate to admit it), NN actually has a point. Bringing in a pocket passer to back up Kaep would handcuff this offense. Tebow plays the same style as Kaep, so the playbook could stay (roughly) the same. I also think that if Kaep wins this weekend, he will have enough equity with the fans where the "Play Tebow" chants would remain quiet, unlike in Denver and NY where they had horrible starting QBs to begin with.
