He was bad in preseason and didn't really understand the defense very well. A lot of the terminology being used in Sutton's defense were the same at ND, but meant completely different things. As far as what actually got him cut, that's the million dollar question. He was pretty bad in preseason, but not cuttable really either.

Some info from normally non-bullshitter types indicated he was running his mouth a bit too much for a rookie and was starting to get crap from more veteran players.

Strange move if it's not something criminal or lockerroom related because the kid was plenty talented. I thought he had maybe the highest ceiling as a man-press guy in the draft. Very disappointed by all of this.
