a lot of fans dismiss their cheating ways as everyone does it, but then why is it that only the pats get busted for it every few years?

broncos busted twice for illegally circumventing the salary cap, within a 2 year span...a few years removed from back to back titles. not a word about it.

the chargers were caught red handed in game using stickum in 2012. they refused to cooperate. no one was suspended. rivers not investigated, his phone was never requested.

the panthers and vikings both used illegal sideline heaters on the footballs last season. no one was suspended.

jerry rice openly admitted he used stickum late into his carer with oakland. this happened recently.

want more?

Because you don't actually follow football?

See, e.g, Arthur Blank, Ray Farmer, Seahawks violating OTA contact rules, Bountygate, etc.

This. Roger Goodell has been out to "get" the Patriots forever.

I thought everyone knew this. :noidea:

Clearly those cases are comparable. :L

So we've gone from "only the Pats get busted" to well "only the Pats get busted for what I subjectively deem to be an important rule violation. Bountygate? Ain't no thang!"

Who admitted wrongdoing and fully cooperated in the investigation. He also didn't bitch and moan after the penalty was handed down.

None of that directly translated to on the field success though. Deflating balls and recording other teams gives you a decided advantage over other teams. Blank pumping sound into the stadium? I really didn't even care about that and it really didn't translate into any wins. Ray Farmer was texting, but it's not like he was texting to coaches or players. The Seahawks Otha contact rules is laughable. Bounty gate is the only one you listed that really hold any water in my opinion, and even then, it's not like players aren't trying to hurt eachother anyway, right?

they are also cheating. OP said "the pats are the only team caught cheating"

the OP is retarded.

Bountygate wasn't cheating at all. None of these isolated examples is even in the realm of this decade-long culture of cheating and coverups by the New England Patriots.

Just stop. :L

Nice deflection. OP said only the Pats get busted. Which is blatantly false. If OP had said only the Pats bitch and moan and try to weasel out of punishment, then he might have something. . .

Nope.

We've gone from "they didn't do anything!" to "well, everyone does it!"

It's honestly laughable.

I think Rock might use Bud Adams' hair as an excuse here in a minute. :L

Another crock you tell yourself. Why do any of these things if they didn't think it helped?

Goodell is out to get his good friend Kraft. That's why he hangs out with him so much. Or something.

The Patriots have a history of sketchy ass behavior but have skated compared to a team like the Saints, which got the hammer smacked down on them for bountygate. The Saints lost their coach for a whole year, several top players suspended...and Pats fans whine about their witch hunt, LOL. They should be saying thank God instead for getting off so easy after being caught cheating in a conference championship game.
