Alex Smith throws best to Vernon Davis, whether its chemistry, the type of route, or combination of both, this is our best combo. we should add a few more 11 to 85 per game.

They'd be even better if Davis would quit jumping every time he catches the ball instead of just running through the catch.

I would agree with those that make mention of the coaching staff, wow. What a turnaround, lets hope the bye week does in fact become and adjustment week and we get better.

Culliver was a decent surprise, especially when it was noted he was who was defending CJ last game but he did a good job and kept him out of the endzone.

Of course Alex has looked good, managed the game but also being able to lead a striking blow to the opposition when it counts the most.

Kendall Hunter has looked good too, much better than Dixon.

just read an article on Greg Cossell (NFL films) about Alex Smith, was certain it would be posted already but didn't see it? anyways, think he describes it best by saying this Coaching Staff is minimizing his impact on games?

this is hard to do being he's the QB, but it makes sense thinking of the plays we run? unless its 3rd and long, we're not asking him to throw downfield. we're not asking him to pass our way to the end zone.

but Singletary was thinking along the same lines, the reason he wanted to lean run. isn't it the same reasoning "the QB isn't the most important position on the field"? think he slipped on that but his INTENT was minimize Alex Smith. why is it working now?

[just thinking out, don't need to throw out answers]

Ray McDonald, I thought he would be an upgrade in pass defense at LDE but be a downgrade against the run, but he's been just as good against the run.

On a side note, Franklin only has 9 tackles in NO. This year SF ranks #2 and NO is 14th against the rush. Last year the NO defense ranked 16th and SF was 6th.

So far I like that stat

Bowman and McDonald were solid 3rd round picks, IMO exceeding their draft status. so we've passed that stretch where we weren't getting much that round. :-)

Dixon should get cut just for that ludicrous hairdo he has.

Yeah, he needs to work on that, but I worry if he stops jumping he'll start dropping. I've been accepting what I can get from people as opposed to worrying about what could have been. I'm placated more when we win and it's a surprise. When we lose or when I expect to win (and do win), I may want more. If he can assure the catch (that jumping is not a crutch of his) then I will want more YAC. When I trip over something, I try to lift the untripped leg, like a jump, because my body knows how to land from a jump (especially in ice or snow) better than planting the tripped foot.
