Isn't Avila about to be a manager yet...former catchers, who cant hit, tend to be given the spot at some point.

How crazy would that be?

It would be great. The egomaniac would overmanaging the pitching staff and refuse to sit a struggling player. The Tigers are obviously loaded. Oz's teams with the sox underachieved every yr after 05 (except 07 they sucked). He loves the lefty-lefty and righty-righty matchups. Neil cotts had the best BAA in all of baseball against righties yet oz loved pulling him for some bum middle of pen reliever who was a righty. He loves small ball so enjoy watching him kill chances at big innings. Please hire him

Larry Parish, Brad Ausmus, Tory Lovullo, Rick Honeycutt, and possibly Mike scosia if the Angels decide to part ways with him.

I would love to see Scioscia as the Tigers manager. Most Angels fans are fed up with Mike. I beg the Tigers organization to do their very best to get him.

As a tigers fan i wouldnt want maddon. Hes the same guy that batted carlos pena second and a catcher with no power numbers clean up in the past. Some managers are great and some managers just think they are great.

Larry Parrish? Did you mean Lance Parrish? Larry Parrish was the Tigers' manager back in 1998, under Randy Smith.
Rick Honeycutt is an interesting choice. Long time pitching coach with some success. Outside the box on that one.

So, you are probably looking for a manager that does not think outside the box too much, huh? You'd like to see more of a push-button manager, who usually follows the accepted "rules"...like left vs lefty/righty vs righty out of pen,and keeping a player in one batting slot, even when in a slump? I will admit, Madden might not be my first choice....mainly because he has dealt with a totally different type of ballclub and ownership while in Tampa.

Legendary Lloyd got first crack in the interview process. Kinda weird that DD and Lloyd McClendon both confirmed the interview publicly. Im guessing somebody promised Ol' Jimmy his guy would be considered.

not going to take a rocket scientist to win games...going to be WS winners if they get players not a manager.

You mean a manager that uses numbers and strategy? Yes.
