Everything must go, except probably Bum, Posey and Crawford.
Who has value that the Giants could trade?
Who has value that the Giants could trade?
Washington might give yall a nice haul to get Melancon back.
He has a full non-trade, but I think both parties would be open to working something out. And he had a good tenure inDC, didn't he? Maybe that is a possibility. As it stands now, Washington's bullpen will be their undoing, and really makes them a non threat in the playoffs.
Of the three, I suspect that Bum may be the most available. He is a big game pitcher, and the Giants don't look like they will be in many big games for a couple years. You'd know better than I but right now probably no one? (since you exclude the above)

Posey is the face of the franchise. There still needs to be something to sell tix. And a catcher can really help with a rebuild as he interacts with both the hitters and pitchers. You could still get something for Cueto, IMO.
Oh, and Posey is 30. Why not see what you can get?
Belt could net you a prospect or two.
Panik?

And he will be due a BIG payday come 2020. And trading him will likely net the biggest return haul.
But Belt and Panik may garner some interest as well. Nunez will DEFINITELY be traded by the deadline. If he isn't, the front office will need to be blown up along with the roster.
The Giants blogosphere is looking at the Yanks as a nice fit for Belt.qTrue he will demand (as he should) a big salary and the Giants won't do that. Just wonder what teams will take him... The Red Sox should stay away imo... Don't want another highly priced player who may or may not perform... God, I can't wait till Panda is gone!!
Belt and Panik could... Who needs a 2nd baseman right now? Everyone always could use a 1st baseman.

No 3B, but could you use an aging, injury prone, diminishing defensive RFer?Hey, can the Giants give the Red Sox another overweight bum of a 3rd baseman? got any of those lying around @calsnowskier
About 17M per the next 4 years. His advanced metrics are some of the best for a 1B and indicate that he has been absolutely destroyed by AT@T. And he offers near GG defense.Cueto obviously should bring back a nice package of prospects
Doesnt Belt have a pretty ugly contract?

Sure. But Hosmer likely won't be available at the deadline while Belt likely will be available. All things being equal, Id rather chase Hosmer, who should be very available if KC ever stops winning
KC is gonna have some serious decisions if they stay in the race, cause they risk losing a LOT of key players on that team

Cueto is a tough situation. Too many moving parts with his opt out.
I actually think Belt fits the Yanks well... But I doubt Belt gets much back for the Giants... Metrics are great and all, but his results and injury prone-ness is sub par for a first baseman... I would want him, but I wouldn't really be willing to spend too much for him in trade...
