True.....but the way starting QB contracts are going.....Wentz is damn near a bargain based on his numbers last season in Indy. He had the 1 bad game vs the Jags that was amplified because they ended up missing the playoffs.Wentz $28.29M fully guaranteed.
Mayfield $4.85M fully guaranteed + $3.5M in incentives.
Logically Wentz is the better player, but he's almost certainly worse value for money.
Fuck it. I forgot. Sorry, I'm new here.Potato salad.
You can choose Drew or Geno.

Just messing with you.....LOL.I have made my case about this on about 2 weeks ago

Hey @trojanfan12 can you fix this and add tater salad? I promise once I get some experience here it won't happen again.
I thought Wentz had a decent 2021 overall. I think he's worth more now than he was after 2020. That said I wouldn't guarantee him $20M going into 2022. The top 8 or so QBs are worth $40M+ to their teams. The QBs outside the top 24 are worth maybe $5M to their teams. I think Wentz is closer to the 2nd group than the 1st group. Wentz is capable of playing like a $28M QB but he's also capable of playing like a $5M QB. Desperation trade by Washington.True.....but the way starting QB contracts are going.....Wentz is damn near a bargain based on his numbers last season in Indy. I promise to be better going forward.....LOL.Done.

I think Wentz is somewhere between 16-18. He is a definite upgrade from Heinicke who is really a backup QB.I thought Wentz had a decent 2021 overall. As per Spotrac he is due $26,176,470 for 2023 and $27,235,294 for 2024. By definition these numbers will only be good if he is worth at least that amount of money. Obviously the Commanders could cut him after 2022, but that would imply the trade picks and cash/cap resources were poorly spent. I can see Wentz either being worth it, or not being worth it. What I can't see is him doing is outperforming the contract, and that's why I would call it a desperation move. Such moves are ok if it could make the difference between success and failure in the playoffs, but this doesn't seem to be a genuine reflection of where the franchise is. Just an opinion. Good luck in 2022.True but if he works out is salary number for 23 and 24 are very low for a starting QB in the NFL. We took a risk. If he fails, we own him no gmoney. If he does well, he is on the books for 22M in 2023 and 2024 which is very reasonable.

I'm surprised anyone is even talking about Wentz...BM's won a playoff game.
Other than spraining both of his ankles in the same game last season what has Wentz done?
If he repeats the numbers he had in Indy it would be outperforming the contract IMO.As per Spotrac he is due $26,176,470 for 2023 and $27,235,294 for 2024.
