Who's gonna shock some people and make the playoffs?

Some candidates:

Pelicans, Bucks, Suns, Lakers & Magic.

Get creative here.... remember before you laugh at some of the teams mentioned in this thread, the Blazers were supposed to be one of the worst teams in the NBA last year... Bucks w/the Middleton injury so that's why they made the list, as expectations have dropped a little for them.

If the Pelicans and Suns can stay healthy, I think there is a possible playoff threat for each.

It was a homer pick and Bosh isn't playing another game in a Heat uniform so that's out the window

Dragic & Whiteside & Winslow is nice but you'll need some people to step up big time. East is deep in that 6-12 range, gonna be tough.

Yeah no doubt. Going to need some of those mediocre role players to step. Yes I'm looking at James Johnson, Derrick Johnson, Dion Waiters, and etc.

I think they can possibly sneak into the playoffs but I see a 9th or 10th place finish

Everyone knows they're gonna be a playoff contender, won't shock anyone. Unless that was an attempt of a joke (a poor one) then try again plz.

Blazers, goddamnit. Up yours!

Sadly, it won't be the Lakers. Minnesota might have an outside shot though!

I'll go Denver.

If healthy, they could surprise.

Jokic looks like a Stud.

Hopefully, Mudiay will be much better and should stop hero balling.

His biggest weakness' are shooting and turnovers.

With Gallo, Beasley and Murray there to spot up, that should minimize one of those issues.

They have enough talent with the guys already mentioned, plus Wilson Chandler, Gary Harris, Manimal, Nurkic.

Unfortunately, they are the land of broken toys.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them make the playoffs. In fact, I think they could even possibly get as high as the 6 or 7 seed... Thibs will have them ready to take the next step. Lots of talent there.

Hero-balling? Just because he has a bad habit of shooting on his way down does not mean he's hero-balling. Some time in the gym will cure that, because the tools are there. The turnovers are a product of simply being young.

In all seriousness, Denver is not polished enough to make the playoffs in this conference. And honestly, I don't think there's going to be a this year's Blazers because I for one was not all that surprised at what they accomplished last year...

Of course they won't make it in a loaded West.

Did you read the part of the OP that said get creative?

The Wolves and Jazz are obvious.

That's why you see folks throwing out Teams that we know won't make it....like the Nets and the Sonics who don't even exist.

...and yes, hero balling is what he did at the start of the Season as evidenced by his horrific turnovers.

He was out of control.
