I don't think he was fully recovered wwhen he came back. I think he has some solid years leftRuss had a tough season last year. Maybe the worst of his career. And yet he STILL had 25 TDs to 6 Int with a 7.8 Y/A and a 103 PR.

Indeed don't give up draft capitol for some bridge QB, go with Lock or some cheap alternative like Mariota or Huntley. Concentrate on building a core group of players so when go go after a franchise QB he has the pieces around him to succeed. Rather pass on drafting a QB this draft and wait until 2023. Just take our lumps this season.Drew will most likely be our starting guy, he’s gonna get one more shot to see if he can be a legit starter … He’s probably not the long term solution unless something clicks with him, which can happen, but probably unlikely, time will tell … I can see us brining someone else in to compete for the job, be interesting to see what happens … BUT please don’t give up anymore draft picks, let’s keep those and build this thing back up over time…
He still has some years left but he isn't what he once was. I saw this analyze of the trade and they talk about RW and his pro and con. Its from a FFI don't think he was fully recovered wwhen he came back. I think he has some solid years left
Wouldn't surprise me in the leastI think he is going to have a monster year in Denver.
I hear plenty of people say RW didn't play well last year, but he led the league in passer rating before the injury (to include 70% comp, 10 TD, 1 INT) and then after recovering from injury looked just like Russell Wilson to me down the stretch. In his last 7 games of the season, he had 1 clunker vs Rams (nothing new there over the years) and passer ratings of over 100 every game except for 49ers (99.4), 15 TDs to only 3 INT. Also only sacked 7 times in the last 5 games. Outside of the 2 recovery games where he clearly wasn't 100% and the already mentioned clunker vs Rams in week 15, he played in 11 other games; his worst passer rating in those 11 games was 93.8 vs Rams in the game he hurt his finger. 2nd worst was the 99.4 vs 49ers, and then everything after that (9 games) was over 100. That's pretty damn good.Russ had a tough season last year. Maybe the worst of his career. And yet he STILL had 25 TDs to 6 Int with a 7.8 Y/A and a 103 PR.

view point but it is dead on IMO on the breakdown.
There was a lot more spoken about then the cover 2 problem with RW but no matter, a lot of folks don't want to blame RW. We saw that when Smith was QB the offense went to a more short/intermediate attack. I see no point arguing about it because no one is changing their mind at this point as folks are dug into their position. The folks in the video had no skin in RW debate and are just saying what they see, like how RW can't escape the pocket anymore, how he seems to not like passing to the middle of the field and so on. Now time will tell and we can judge by what the results are going forward with RW. I do think he has gas in the tank still, but the days of being a top QB are behind him, he can still be a serviceable QB for several years and there will be no Pete Carroll to blame. This is the same tired argument we've been hearing about Wilson for the last 18 months. It just doesn't reflect reality.
Being unable to beat a Cover 2 is a QB problem. It is a scheme problem. Our offense was built to give Russ two options. Short bubble screens and deep fly routes. We switch OCs and we still do the same thing.
When your QB plays like that and you still end up under .500, you have real problems.I hear plenty of people say RW didn't play well last year, but he led the league in passer rating before the injury (to include 70% comp, 10 TD, 1 INT) and then after recovering from injury looked just like Russell Wilson to me down the stretch. Yes lets see if he still avoids the middle of the field, lets see if he's still throwing long, lets see if he can escape the pocket. Broncos have a good defense, good RB, good WRs, promising TE. Lets see where they end up, Super Bowl, or division winners, wild card, or missing the playoffs.I guess this is what we will see this fall.

Yep. To me, here are our main 3 problems of the past couple seasons, in no particular order:When your QB plays like that and you still end up under .500, you have real problems.
Russell Wilson has masked a lot of our issues the past handful of seasons, which we caught a glimpse of this year when he was out and then not 100%. Those days are over, so I think it's going to be tough sledding here for a while (not a newsflash, I know). I have a tough time seeing it get fixed while PC & JS are here because I think they are the proximate cause for all 3 of the above problems.
Yeah, maybe. "Always compete" is a pretty broad statement I think. It's a mindset. I don't know if it necessarily means that every single position on the team is always up for grabs by anyone anywhere on the depth chart. One issue I feel happened over the last few years is that the "always compete" mantra seemed to disappear from the lockerroom. Trading Russ hopefully forces them to go back to that - but it's been rare that it truly felt like every position was a competition.
Feels like the most exciting off season in a decade. Now the draft matter, now the free agent market matters, now trade possibilities are actual on the table. I feel renewed.
Super Bowl contenders? I love that also, but if we are being honest here the Seahawks haven't been Super Bowl contenders for many years.Bad teams always look forward to the off season because it offers hope of change.
I was much more excited when I thought we could be Super Bowl contenders during the offseason.
