The Bears cannot negotiate w/ McCown until he's a FA. He's making $850,000 . QB starved teams might look at him as a stop gap,while they prep their draft choice.
Emery says he doesn't want to FA tag Jay. Many teams are looking in to his future.
Just saying. We could lose 2 of the top rated QBs in franchise history .
I'm really not concerned about QB as I am w/ the D.
I think T-man can get a reliable QB to run his system.
Just would like your thoughts.

I'd still also like us to take a late round flyer on Murray or Garoppolo. Sit and wait in the wings under Cutler and possibly/hopefully also McCown.

Depends on Jay. If he's happy with a franchise tag(which they will give him,barring a miraculous playoff run) it will be him. If not, Josh will probably be the starter. We'll trade Jay for a 1st round pick (hopefully to Minny or Jacky) and hope our drafting of QB busts ends.

This is the McCaskeys, they always put the franchise tag on their best FA.

I hope Jay plays well the next 3 games and we are able to sign him and also keep McCown. For one thing we never get through a season with just 1 QB anyway so we are in a d little different position than most teams. we need 2 good qbs to get us through a season. maybe when we can prove we can survive with 1 franchise QB it will be different. But i can't name 1 availlable QB out there that can give us a chance to win the way these 2 can, I remember when Jay got hurt i thought we were done because of lack of confidence in Number 12 but he proved EVERYONE wrong.
