Future Chase Headley Suitors: MLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com

The most interesting quote in this article for me is:

Still, star-caliber non-Boras guys with four-plus years of big league service who are not locked up are a rarity. 2014 will be Headley's contract year, so he may prefer to just play it out and get a piece of that free agent pie.

I just don't see the Yankees going after him but if the Jays can put some wins together, they probably will. The A's and Braves also make perfect sense. My guess is that Headley would prefer to either stay in San Diego and play the contract out or go to Atlanta.

Yes, 3rd.

I think some teams in the mix are going to want to see how he comes out of the gate. He had a monster year and he's a solid defender, but he's not proven at his numbers last season.

I have no doubt that someone will try to tie him to Texas, and we will all laugh at them. But since Texas is always linked to everyone when trades are talked...it will happen.

The A's were rumored to be after him last year. Atlanta & the Yankees make a lot of sense. Byrnes worries me when it comes to trades. I hated the Rizzo deal. Still do. The Latos deal hasn't been good either. Volquez is awful, Grandal has already been suspended. Boxberger hasn't done anything yet. So it's bascially Alonso for Latos. Not good for the Padres.

Careful dealing with the A's. Pitchers that leave don't tend to do too well.

It's funny, apparently the reason why a deal wasn't made last deadline was because Beane wouldn't give up Straly.

I don't expect the Yankees to get involved now that they have Youk. There will be plenty of interest from other teams though.
