18 or 19?? Holy hell, most standard rosters are 14-16. And I get your concerns, but what you wrote doesn't argue against playing a tteam (or having a team) with sudden unexpected injury issues being an even worse travesty. Sorry, I just don't agree at all

Sudden unexpected injury issues are part of the game. That's why you keep 2QB's. 4-5-6-RB's, 4-5-6-WR's , 2TE's, a K and a D on your roster at all times.

It's called trying to be a good coach / out coach others and keep a good roster at all times with back-up RB's like M. Bush or Hunter when you have Forte' and Gore if they're going to miss a week or 2. Try to have 2-3 #1WR's a couple #2's and 3...etc..etc...

I think your projecting the roster size your used to onto the hobby as a whole. .Most leagues dint have the space to accommodate 2 QB's, 4-6 RB's, and 4-6WR's.. What your referencing is an exception to the norm and just isn't plausible for most people

You do make a point, because I've never played on say ESPN, Yahoo or other free sites to see it's set-up

We use myfantasyleague.com. Our draft isn't online, it's local between friends. You can choose any format / set the rules you want using that site.

It costs a one time fee, but all you do is put in every owners roster after draft day, set your format and what rules you have.

The site does the rest.

I understand some of your concerns concerning injuries, add/drop, and the wire..and see the concerns there. I play in an 8 team PPR with 16 on the roster. Usually a number of quality players on waivers every week. We don't have a maximum # of transactions, which I am a definitely for. I have used a limited number of players this year. I just had the unfortunate circumstance that Shorts and Welker were basically lost last week. Fitzgerald was a late "go"...and I didn't want to risk it.

I am starting Crabtree. And right now I couldn't do any worse with Crab, than Rice (8), Caldwell (3), or Jennings (6) did today...
