Milk - let's say you don't keep Megatron, and you end up with the fourth pick, and seven teams keep somebody, and it turns out three of those were the picks before you. So you end up being the first one to pick and Megatron's there plus the four other studs that weren't kept - which player would tempt you away from Megatron in PPR?

the more owners to have a keeper the better though...
Yes. . The better reason to keep Calvin as there are less possible better alternatives. . Can go back and forth on this all day. . But the smart play is to keep Calvin.. keeping no one is a gamble, which might pay off.. no reason to gamble with your top pick

Depends on who else is there... Looks like Payton manning will be available too... And i think that is a coin toss... But again it is not what i would do, I asked where he ranks calvin in his top 12... I think, if he is not in his top 6, then he very well might get someone just as good if not better(by his rankings)... I agree with you that in PPR calvin might be the #1 pick... But, then again so might payton...

Manning is on the same team as AP... so one of them will be available...

McCoy, AP, Charles, Rodger and Brees. But Id wouldn't test it, Id just keep Calvin.

Lol..and the chances of any of them not being kept? Zero, unless one team owned two of them and had to choose

Right. Im just naming names Id take before CJ. Id hope the other owners already have #81 scratched off their hopeful list.

mccoy and brees are on the same team

manning and AP are on the same team

so if calvin is not kept that is 3 legit first round players available sure there will be more...

Who would you rather have, manning, brees or calvin??

Id take Calvin third from that group without question. (Do we know the draft order?)

No, but it is a calculated risk, and the more teams that do have a keeper the better the odds of getting one of those 3... Kind of a good gamble i think, depending on the value you give for calvin...

Hard to give up one of the only keeper worthy receivers in the NFL though. (IMO anyway. Gordon is too big of a risk. Jefrey plays outside, in poor conditions at the end of the season. Andre Johnson is aging. Dez Bryant maybe, since Linehan is pass happy. Jones is coming off injury. Maybe Green. Thomas seems too risky.) But, you give CJ back to the pool, maybe you grab two of the others? It is a gamble that could pay off. But drafting last could leave you with one of the "risky" receivers, second tier RBs or a QB that isn't Manning, Rodgers or Brees. Id be happy with CJ anywhere after 6-7 in an open draft pool. Suppose it would come down to the odds if getting one of the 5-6 guys Id take over him.

The risk of losing Megatron in order to 'possibly' get 2 other players is too much for my liking.

If you knew for sure that you would be replacing Megatron with 2 other first round caliber players, than of course, don't keep him. If you don't know for sure, play it safe and keep him.

But it is a calculated risk... the less owners who keep a player, the more of a traditional first round it is, and the more first round eligible players there will be... The more owners that keep a player the more likely you can get one of the 3(manning, Brees, Calvin)...

You also know, that at least one owner will unwisely keep a player... that is just the way keeper leagues go...

Again, If you rank Calvin in the top 6 players overall in the draft, then keep him... If not then I would not keep him... There is a huge chance you will get someone better...

Either way, it wont be the end of the world, it just may change your strategy...

And when it comes down to it, that's all that matters. Milk definitely made a strong case for his thoughts, and keeping Calvin is an equally good idea. .But at the end of the day, you go with what makes you comfortable. .what would you get more enjoyment out of.

For me, when there's a couple of equal options and I just can't decide. .I'll go for the guy who I went seeing succeed in Sundays. Not necessarily "a homer", but when all things are equal I get more enjoyment or if having players I'm a big fan of, even if it turns out to be the wrong decision.

Just for the record, i never said dont keep calvin... Just assumed that if it was that obvious to him, he would not have created the thread, so i thought he valued calvin lower than we did...

Still think if he is valued anything worse than 6, he should not be kept... But i do think he is a top 6 pick...

Its just THIS format, i would never keep anyone who i value in the back half of the first round... The risk reward is just to high...

Just for the record top scorers for this league were

manning
brees
charles
dalton(yeah i know right)
rivers
stafford
newton
luck
forte
romo
big ben
russel wilson
shady mccoy
matt ryan
demarius thomas
josh gordon
Nick Foles
Antonio Brown
Kapernick
Brady
AJ Green
Calvin Johnson
brandon marshall
Jimmy Graham
Alex Smith
Tannehill
Dez Bryant

Now obviously since qb's get 6 per passing touchdown they get a ton of points, and the few three down backs who catch alot of balls were at the top

aside from that you have gordon(suspended), Demarius thomas, antonio brown, AJ green ahead of him.........

You would think you can get a solid solid qb in round two or three.......but in a year with calvin battling injuries.....to still rank that high, and get some help..........with that scoring system........i dont see how i can toss him back in the pool and take someone else

SO our keepers have to be in like 3 weeks prior to the draft......the guy with peyton and adrian peterson is keeping peyton........6 points per passing touchdown..........also 1 full point per reception

so i ask again......do i keep calvin, if i dont, i could lose him and not get AP

again it all depends on where you value Calvin... In our suicide he didn't go until 9th, and in the other suicide he went 4th... If you think he should go in the top 6 then i would keep him... If you think he is not a top 6 pick, then i think you should not keep him...

its a calculated risk not to take him, but the payoff is huge...

AP, Brees/McCoy, i am sure others...

And don't forget you can still always draft calvin if he falls to you...

The best thing about keeper leagues, is not the good players kept, its the fact that there is always one team that keeps someone who shouldn't be kept...

The chances are in your favor to get one of these 4 players(AP,McCoy,Brees, Calvin).... so the risk isn't even that bad... The only problem is if you don't win out you may get a lower end first rounder...

just with that full point per reception, and 6 points per passing touchdown, qb's are valued big, wrs are huge, and pass catching backs are huge

Interestingly enough

Keepers lock on the 8th........

It becomes your first round pick

passing touchdowns are woth 6 points, and you get a full point per catch........which is hugeeee

But the only keepers posted right now are Jamaal charles, Peyton, Rodgers, Lynch

No one else has a keeper in yet

im sitting with the decision of calvin johnson and i have leveon bell
