I had to empty all the sand out of my tent past weekend and let it air out. I was in a rush last time I packed it up and didn’t have an opportunity to shake it out.Did somebody mention "camping"?

You might miss the early rounds of the naked leapfrog tournament if you are delayed, but we always manage to find ways to slip people in (and slip into them).I had to empty all the sand out of my tent past weekend and let it air out. I think this is a good hire, if for no other reason that he's in it for the right reasons. Dude grinded as an assistant for 6 seasons after making over 150 million in his career in the NBA. He doesn't need to coach, but he pretty clearly loves the game and coaching. I've read that he has some recruiting connections already, which is always a plus. If he can recruit Illinois, Michigan, Ohio and Indiana he'll be very successful.
zero collegiate coaching experience, zero head coaching experience on any level, zero evidence that he can develop and coach 18-22 year olds
giving this hire a D grade would be generous.
I understand the skepticism for sure. He doesn't have any of those things, but he's grinded as an assistant for a while now. I'm comparing this to someone who would have been an assistant at a P5 program. Maybe like Wojo to Marquette, something like that. I think he can be a good recruiter too, maybe not to the level of Penny just because he doesn't have those connections but he'll be able to sell kids a lot of things. It was either that or promote from within.

I love juwan Howard.
But I also lived through Kevin Ollie.
Idk how Michigan couldn’t land a stud.
I really thought they were gonna get billy Donovan
I'm currently living under Danny Manning, and DM's pre-Wake resume was so much better than Howard's pre-Michigan resume.
Howard has only been an assistant in the NBA for six years. Wojo was an assistant at Duke for 15 years, and he learned under one of the greatest coaches in the history of basketball.

I think timing played a big part of their overall search.
No question. If Beilein leaves earlier, they probably get Nate Oats.
Yes. But I also understand how coaching under pay Riley could be seen as a better experience than a mediocre run at Tulsa
