None of this means anything. Whiteside was still learning the game (he was essentially a rookie) and the Heat in general were still learning to play together because a lot of those guys were injured the season prior.

As some Heat fans pointed out, part of the reason they played better was because Joe Johnson was a great addition. How much better would the Heat with Bosh and Joe Johnson?

Your insistence that the Heat would somehow be worse without a top 20 player in the league is pretty hilarious.

Apparently my use of certain words like "twat" and "kunt" offend, good ol' Todd. If he would stop being such a consistent dumbass and being a little kunt every time we have to set his ass straight all the time. He wouldn't come across as such a twat where the end result is me calling him a pussy. Isn't that right, @HurricaneDij39 ?

If anything, you can go cry to @Mecca , fuck boy (@WiggyRuss ) has taken up that method to try to comfort himself. Having said that, maybe you're both in need of testosterone therapy.

Well, Whiteside was moved to the bench after the 23-20 start until the last three games of the regular season, so the "learning" excuse doesn't float here. It was Spo's strategy. Hassan Whiteside 2015-16 Game Log | Basketball-Reference.com
And yes, the addition of Johnson and the ensuing move of Luol Deng to the PF position was big for them because not only did they add another shooter but it also allowed them to pick up the pace at the same time. If Bosh was still there through that particular stretch, someone's effectiveness would have suffered.

48-34 with a second round appearance was as far as that roster was going to get, and apparently Dwyane Wade agreed or else he wouldn't have jumped ship from the franchise he'd been with for 13 years...

Here's you being a twat again. Take a top 20 player off a roster and the Heat still would operate at the same efficiency. Great logic.

Then let's hear your dynamite analysis on why Wade would leave the franchise he made relevant if they were in fact (as you claim) still an Eastern Conference powerhouse. Because Miami didn't actually let him walk, they offered him a similar two-year deal of around $20 million year...

Salary cap issues. Whiteside was on a minimum contract. Heat didn't have his bird rights. In order to sign him to a max deal, which was required to keep him - we had to lose Deng and Joe Johnson. Couple that with the Heat couldn't get rid of McRoberts without giving up other assets (mainly Winslow) to clear enough salary cap space to satisfy his 2-year $50 million dollar contract request and could only offer him $40 mil. Dude felt disrespected, as misguided as it is given he should look at his agent, Bosh, and Lebron for various reasons.

Also, the Heat told Wade that they're building up for 2017 free agency given that they struck out on Durant. Durant who told the Heat he's in win now mode and couldn't wait a year for Riley to put together a contending roster.

This was actually your most useful post in this whole thread. Congratulations.

I'm personally a fan of post #61. What are your thoughts @ChiefsLakers67 , @Shaqdaddy11 , and @trojanfan12 ?

Great. I'm still not convinced Bosh would have made the impact you claimed he would. And at 32 with two straight seasons of blood cots, I think it's safe to say his future in the NBA appears to be a bit cloudy as well.

So what about those cavs huh?

What's the plan with the team when father time catches up with lebron, or he gets injured?
The cavs don't have cap space for a VERY long time, or at least till you reach puberty.

Pacers for NBA Finals in '18 or '19 baby!

Birdman started 20 games in 2014-15 - At age 36, and more than he ever had in any season of his career.

Chris Andersen

I know he started games because he was the Center before Whiteside signed with Miami. Once the Heat saw Hassan was legit, he became the permanent starter. Do you know any D-league call up who starts immediately. Hassan was starting within 2 months after he signed with Miami. Whiteside was called up on November 24, 2014 but did not get consistent playing time until on December 27th. He became the starting Center on January 14th and never looked back

I agree with you that Riley's past work without a doubt warrants him a spot in the hall of fame.

I wouldnt want him anywhere near being in charge of my team at this point- making tough decisions though- planning out years ahead etc...... if he is a figurehead and a leader and just sets the culture thats one thing.

Ive said it for a while now- the Heat needed to rebuild once LeBron left- instead Riley kept them competing- and dealt draft picks who's protections are practically non existent.

This is when teams make irrevocable mistakes- when they have a GM who's incentives do not line up with the teams incentives.

When you see a 70 year old man trade away numerous first round draft picks that are barely protected in order to compete right away- and then see the same guy let Dwayne Wade walk- you begin to wonder what the fuck a guy is doing. Those are completely contradictory strategies.

these Durant and Westbrook and Griffin pipe dreams have to stop. Aint happening.

Do you even realize you're the only person talking shit about Riley? Which I think is a bit odd. And you mention him letting Wade walk? Just stop that nonsense. Wade is still a good player but not great anymore & I think Riley was smart to let him walk because of the contract he wanted. Wade @ this point in his career isn't worth that 2 year 50m contract (or whatever it was). And to say Miami will never land another top FA is crazy talk. It's South Beach! Just because Yer Boy left the franchise doesn't mean the Heat will never land another top tier FA.

He offered Wade 40 mill over 2 years. Why should he go above and beyond and risk the future of the franchise by trading one of our decent young players just to give Wade 50+ mil?
